This tour is excellent - very informative for anyone (like me!!!) who has no clue really what the troubles were all about - Jim the guide was very impartial and didn’t take sides - he firstly gave an overview of what lead up to the troubles and honest and factual accounts of a lot of relevant events that happened during this troubled time - definitely worth doing if you’re confused or unsure of what actually happened!!

We have used them for various tours around the world and have never been disappointed. Well worth the money!

Absolutely marvelous tour with Jim. True to their word, the tour does not “choose sides,” but depicts the hardships placed on every day people on both sides of the conflict. Jim did a wonderful job of taking us back in time - a difficult task given the vibrancy of current day Belfast.

I enjoyed this tour this morning! Please "highly" consider this tour if you are visiting Belfast. It is a must if you are interested in the hisory of Belfast. Our tour guide, Paul, was professional, thorough and extremely personable. I never felt like I was lagging or missing information. I was pleasantly surprised at how personal a group of 25 could feel. Excellent! 5 stars!

Jim did a great job with the tour. Very factual but also related to his own experiences. Good balance of politics, religion and human bias and group thought. I don't know how or if I would change the presentation of the subject matter. Good job to those who organized.

Our tour guide Jim was absolutely exceptional. He had a great stance on everything, made everyone feel welcome included and above all had a vast knowledge on all history topics included. Cannot recommend enough!

If you are interested in a non partisan account of the history of the conflict this is a great tour to take. Paul our guide gave a very extensive explanation of the history of Belfast right up to present day. I would highly recommend you take this tour.

As ex-pats who have been away for a long time but grew up here in the bad old times we still learnt a lot from this very balanced, informative and entertaining tour. It was recommended to us by our children who did not grow up here. The subject matter is necessarily a bit dark because they were dark times but James was an excellent knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour ….and lots of great tips for where to get a good pint of Guinness! Highly recommend it.

James gave us a much better understanding of the period of Irish history that I had not appreciated before. The media and news reports of the days that I lived through left so much out - from both sides of the conflict. Sectarianism never wins and the culmination of errors and realisations play out in James’ deep and meaningful dialog - not morose, but engaging. It felt like you were walking with a good friend with expert knowledges and experience yet no overall opinion of what was right and what was wrong. Peace is fragile, but if there is no ‘talking about it’ it becomes more fragile. I would like to think that publicly and with clarity to the people of Belfast that seeing tourists asking for a better understanding gives to all - the people in the walk and the passers-by. - the message of hope and example that conflicts as hard and as bloody as in Belfast can be shown to the world a better path can be the outcome

James was excellent! He is fabulous storyteller and added humor when necessary because it is a difficult subject. He’s a history buff and keeps his opinions out of it, and just states the facts.

James did a fantastic job in educating us on the “Troubles” and the Terror Northern Ireland and Belfast experienced from the 1960’s through today. Walking with him and hearing the sad and moving events that the citizenry lived through was enlightening. It wasn’t all sad as we also heard personal stories and learned about the origins and geography of Belfast. Highly recommend…

A very unbiased and informative tour around troubled central areas of Belfast. James the tour guide, took us on a gentle stroll around these areas, relaying the history and stories of the troubles and there effects on the city and it’s inhabitants. Being from the area he was very knowledgeable and showed great belief and pride in his city. Would definitely recommend, especially if you’re into your history.

Our guide Steve Malone was fantastic! He presented all the facts in a very understandable way and left us with some hope for the future. . It’s a horrible history but something we all need to hear. History repeats itself.

Absolutely brilliant tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide, Paul. The tour was very informative and Paul was extremely good at putting a very human aspect to it all but at the same time giving the facts. We found the whole tour very thought provoking and interesting. Excellent value for money. Could not recommend a tour with Paul too highly, he is a real asset the your company. Thank you

Really enjoyed the tour. Very interesting and gripping. Steve was funny, very informative and not biased. Answered questions and put the troubles into perspective. Tour was over 2.5 hours and Steve kept the groups attention throughout. A very good storyteller and host. It was great to find out more about spots in the centre that we would have otherwise walked past.

I cannot begin to state how much I loved this tour and the breadth of information our guide Steve had (he didn’t even have to look at notes, but I suppose he’s done this a lot, as well as just having personal knowledge). This was an incredibly informative tour and I would recommend everyone attend it!
