My husband and I went on they trip for bear viewing trip at Brooks Falls. It was the trip of a lifetime. We flew with Trent in his Beaver on floats and had a great trip over. Trent is an excellent pilot and we always felt very safe and confident in his flying. Once we got to Brooks Lodge we were on the ground for 3 hours. It was an awesome trip and experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to view these amazing animals!

Superlative! We were originally scheduled to go to Katmai but the fog prevented us from flying there and being able to safely depart. So Adventure Airways happily refunded us our $ but then suggested an alternative trip to Lake Clark National Park. We took that trip, and it turned out better than the one we originally wanted. The flight was short and well executed. Once we arrived, we saw at least six bears, including a mother and her three cubs frolicking on a beach, all from the comfort of a private and well-outfitted pontoon boat. We saw a juvenile bald eagle and multiple other birds. And of course, many salmon. Our guide Jessica Gable (based in Readout Mountain Lodge) was great too. Very informative and accommodating. For lunch they served us fresh cought sockeye salmon (which was amazing), rice and salad. Though they did check whether we had any dietary restrictions in advance. Would 100% recommend to anyone, especially families with kids who may complain about hiking long distances but still want to see bears.

This was such an amazing trip! We got to see so many bears up close on the beach at Lake Clark! Trent was very knowledgeable about the bears and the area. Even with a bit of wind and rain this was a 10/10 experience! Highly recommend!!

What an amazing experience! We were surrounded by so many bears! The pictures don’t even do it justice. Trent was great guide with some much knowledge and made us feel safe the whole time. I loved it so much I’m coming back again but trying out a different tour! Wish I could give more than five stars!

Booked this last minute as a way to spend our last day in Alaska before heading home. Positives: We saw bears! Trent had a nice facility, the airplane was clean and comfortable, he’s very nice and has a great smile. Most importantly, we had a lot of confidence in his piloting skills and felt safe with him when close to the bears. Negatives: I feel like this trip is overpriced. We did a Denali glacier landing tour for 1/2 the price and that was breathtaking. Although enjoyable, I don’t think it’s worth $850/person after tax. I’d do it again if it was closer to $300/person or I’d just suggest skipping. Trent might have been having a bad day but he seemed a little bored. He had a lot of facts about the bears but you had to ask him to get them. On the flight over and back he didn’t do a great job of providing a narrative of the surrounding areas or a 411 on the bears - it was a silent ride. He didn’t appear to be a bear enthusiast although I 100% appreciated how calm he was around them. I’m guess glad I did it but for $1,736.40 for 2 ppl, I would have rather done something else (or a lot of other things to total the same price). Also worth noting, he has a float plane and a regular plane and will use whichever makes sense for the area that has the most bears. If you’re like me and really want a float plane ride, I’d suggest calling ahead to confirm.

Martin is the sole owner and operator and he is both knowledgeable and passionate about providing a first class bear viewing experience. Having operated his business for over a decade he knows the area extremely well and takes one to the best place to see bears where one has less chance of encountering many other groups. We felt safe flying with him as he is focused, has over 40 years flying experience and is fastidious about safety. Martin is a keen photographer and provides opportunities to photograph the bears with the most favorable lighting and composition. He is patient and caring so one can enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. At the end of a magical few hours in which we were fortunate to encounter numerous up close bears, he flew us over the surrounding glaciers and volcanoes before heading back. The perfect conclusion to a memorable and extraordinary experience.

What an experience!! Our family of two adults and one teen were first booked with another company who ended up not being able to take us. So they connected us with Trent at Adventure Airways and we were THRILLED with how things turned out. First, Trent is very personable. That alone makes you enjoy your trip and gives you confidence since he is also the pilot. The plane was clean and well-cared for. Now for the trip. We flew across the bay and landed on a beach at Lake Clark National Park. There was a bear right there clamming and we got to enjoy him for a while. We then walked a short distance to view bears grazing in a meadow. Throughout, Trent was very good at providing us education about the bears, their habits and habitats, as well as some of the plant life. In addition he brought a tripod with a mounted scope so we could see some bears even closer. Overall, we saw about 20-25 bears. It was fantastic! No, we did not see them catching/eating salmon but it was not the season for it yet. But they are fascinating to watch no matter what they are doing. Highly Highly Highly recommend this company!

This is an absolute must do in Alaska. Trent was great at telling us about bears, we saw plenty, and from very close (always felt super safe) On top of that the flight was fabulous and landing on a beach is not something you do every day Really loved it

Had great time in the bear country. Our guide and pilot Trent was very proficient. We saw many bears, few of them from 50 yards distance. Felt very safe and calm in the bear country.

This is a VERY expensive 1/2 day, so we were very careful in picking a flight. I weigh 250 pounds and had to speak with Trent personally in order to get a flight waiver to go, which spoke volumes about him as a pilot and air safety. I am a high-time pilot myself, and I know an expert pilot when I fly with he or she -- Trent is that! We had a very pleasant flight out to the park from Homer airport. Climbed out to about 7,000 to get out of the haze and rougher chop (it was smooth today, but something to be aware of if you suffer from motion sickness). We literally hit a 40 knot headwind at one point and had to make a quick flight change, which Trent did flawlessly Once on the ground, Trent KNOWS where to find the bears. We scouted 8 or 9 total brown bears -- Mommas, cubs, Big Males, etc. You need to be prepared to have some patience, and also to walk a good deal through the muck (hip waders provided at no extra charge), brush and tidal soup if you want to get closs. How close is close? Trent took us to within 40 yards or so of this mamoth female who was fishing along the shore. Got some amazing close up photos, and we never thought we'd get this close to a Grizzly Bear! Close enough to hear them spar-fight, grunt, huff-huff, and yowl at one another. Trent was not afraid to ix his patience with his knowledge. We loaded up the plane and move three times during the trip, then chased the bears on foot a well, but we got all of the shots we came for. Very nice flight back home, and my wife and the other two folks in the back seats fell asleep. We VERY highly recommend this trip. One off the buckt list -- Thank You Trent!!!

We recommend without hesitation taking this tour. Our pilot Trent was top notch. He was polite, knowledgeable, professional, and made us feel safe during our bear viewing trip. The flight over to Lake Clark National Park alone was worth every penny we paid, let alone the icing on the cake being the ultimate in bear viewing. My husband and I viewed over 30 grizzly bears in their native habitat, and actually had a bear walk past us, twice! Amazing! Spiritual! We are already outdoor enthusiasts to begin with, but this experience gave us a whole new understanding of nature and the beauty Alaska has to offer. Once-in-a-lifetime experience we'll never forget.

I remembered Adventure Airways from my last trip to Alaska and we were coming to homer this time by motorhome and went stright to the office and cold book a bear safari for the next day. We were welcomed so nicely and the staff were so friendly and were happy we came again to them. The next day we met at the office and the guide/pilot picked us up. We were only us two and the guide on this trip. He was so nice and calm and flew this plane with such a calm routine and we felt so safe. Arrived at Lake Clark Natl Park we went by foot exploring the bears. The guide was so experienced and professional we felt absolutely safe. And then seeing the bears was an impression we never forget. The guide was explaining and answering all our questions. We had the time of our life and we can strongly recommend booking a bear safari with Adventure Airways. It is more than worth the money. The impressions will last for your life. Thank you guys for letting us enjoy nature this way. You are awesome.

I was nervous and apprehensive about the airplane ride, but let me tell you, our pilot, Ben, was the best! He was certainly-better than any commercial pilot I have ever ridden with! We arrived at the KatMai preserve after an hour plane ride and started our tour. We saw about 20 bears throughout the time we were there. They were absolutely enthralling. We got close to them to observe them in their natural habitat. Questions were fielded by Ben and his cohort. Marko. It was the best part of the entire trip! I am so thankful I decided to go. These guides never made us feel ill at ease while there, even though a couple of bears got really close. It is definitely worth the money. Take lots of pictures. We flew over the glacier and volcano on the way back to Homer. Absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!

We were excited and a bit nervous to do this trip, but Trent was awesome as both pilot and guide. My friend and I had the 6 seater Cessna all to ourselves and the weather was perfect to fly. We landed on the beach at Lake Clark NP. As soon as we stepped off the plane we had to stand still, as two adult bears came barrelling out of the long grass towards us. Trent had a flare at hand just in case, but they ran past us (he was chasing her) within 20 metres, and actually were not that interested in us thankfully. Wow! I could have gone home then happy but we did a short hike to two meadows to see many more grazing. It is the weirdest thing to see bears grazing ... but so awesome too. You have to see it, and with an experienced and calm pilot such as Trent. Highly recommended.

I am a very nervous flyer and Trent did a great job piloting and making sure our flight was smooth and I was ok. We landed and were the only tour group in the area. We immediately spotted bears and got to spend a good deal of time observing a sow and her cubs. Make sure you take some lunch with you as we stopped to eat some snacks away from the plane. Excellent day!
