Book this tour with Silvia, who has a kind and positive personality. All tour guides have completed university and know the history very well, making it very interesting to listen to them. We started our tour early to reach the Panda Base by 8 am. It's best to go there as early as possible to avoid crowds. Trust me, wake up at 6 am if needed :) so you can better see and enjoy the lives of the pandas. This was the reason I went to China and I was so happy to see these cute creatures. Later, we went to a Zen Buddhist monastery on a famous street. I was amazed at how everything is still so authentic in China—temples, tea houses, food, tea bars, and ear grooming. Afterwards, we went to People's Park. I visited on a Friday, which was a public holiday. Wow, the things you will see there will amaze you. Then we had traditional green tea in a tea house. Actually, I haven't seen such tea houses in either Beijing or Hangzhou. So, please enjoy every moment there. Later, we also went to another tourist spot—a street where you can buy lots of souvenirs, clothes, sweets, and more.

Both Casey and Helen arrived early at the hotel and driver was ready for us. Casey spoke very good English and very knowledgeable about the tour. We saw the Panda at close proximity, there were quite a few Giant Pandas in the Panda base. Casey helped us to navigate through the crowd with ease. Good vegetarian meal at the monastery. The wide and narrow alleys were very interesting, full of character and cultural history. Definitely recommend this tour. Thanks to both Casey and Helen for a very goof tour in Chengdu.

Booked this tour to get an overall impression on Chengdu and the pandas, as my time was limited. Alice picked me up from the hotel with a driver and explained to me everything very clearly and with lots of insights. I got a great view on the giant panda and small panda and could see many of them. Although crowded, we got along quite smooth. The Wenshu Yuan monastery was very impressive, and Alice knew a lot about it. The walk through the people's park with a delicious tee was a good closure of an interesting day. Thank you, Alice, for your passion and insights. Thanks also to the driver, who picked us up and dropoedus safely. I'm looking forward to the next tour with you guys.

Our tour guide Worley was great. She adapted the tour to meet our needs and wants. We never felt rushed or spent too long anywhere. The Panda Breeding Center was sooo much more than I could imagine, and it does my heart well to know that the Great Panda is recovering in the wild because of this program. Kudos to China! Great day tour with seeing sights that interested us, maybe not what others would want. That's because of a great tour guide.

Schedule: Panda Center + Temple Vegetarian Buffet + Wide and Narrow Alley + Tea experience in a local park + Local snacks Since we only had 1 day free to explore the city, this tour schedule matched most things that we wanted to see, especially pandas! (Didn’t get a chance to visit Jinli Ancient Street and Temple of Marquis tho..) We had a vegetarian buffet lunch. It was surprisingly good. Our tour guide Worley was wonderful! She taught us a lot about Chengdu and Chinese culture. She was also very patient, never rushed us. The tour wouldn’t be this good without her. So thank you Worley!

Haley, with Samtours did a great job in ensuring that our time in Chengdu was maximized. Our tour guide sent me a text the day before to let me know at what time to expect the driver. Since we stayed very close to the Giant Panda Breeding Station my colleague and I were picked up at our hotel at 8:00am. Hotel pick up from the city is around 7:30am. Our driver was very professional and understood enough English to let us know where we were headed. There is a bit of a walk from the parking lot at the Breeding Station, but you do get to see the murals of pandas along the way. Since our tickets were already purchased, we walked right in. We did see long queu lines waiting to buy tickets, so if time is a concern I highly recommend getting a private tour. There is a team at the entrance of the panda park, which is not included so do prepare for a bit of a walk. We were able to see various ages/stages of pandas from 3 weeks (in an incubator); to 3 months and numerous teenagers. Much as in human life, teenage pandas don't move when their caregivers call them. The call out was funny because the bears were busy posing for visitors while hanging on tree branches. The park is surrounded by bamboo trees which makes the temperature feel humid, although it was a bit nippy in early November. Next we visited the ted pandas, who ran comfortably from tree to tree above our heads. While not bears, but closer to the raccoon family... the red pandas are cute and love to fight over whole little pumpkins tangling from trees. After a few hours we headed for the buddha temple. At the temple we had an incredibly tasty vegetarian buffet. We also had tea in the garden after lunch which was lovely. The temple itself was impressive as were the beautifully kept bonsai gardens. Our great tour was followed by shopping in the city's narrow alleys. No pressure shopping whatsoever. Do ask about the handmade lipstick shop, it was great to watch it being made right before your eyes! Our last stop was supposed to be at People's Park, but since it was raining and there were no people... we shopped a little longer instead.

Worley was excellent. Spoke perfect English and very smart. Even though the tour was supposed to be 8 hrs, Worley spent extra time with us. She never rushed us , very patient. Taught us a lot about Chinese culture. Recommend this tour and ask for Worley she was the best!!

Our tour guide, Emma, was extremely friendly and incredibly informational. We had a very good time on the tour. At the tea house, we had the best conversation about our countries, the similarities and the differences. Honestly, I feel like Emma completed our first trip to China. It wouldnt have been as good without her. I cannot recommend her more. The tour was good. The tour guide was great!

We had a fantastic time on our tour. I’m so glad that we booked this tour. A friend of ours had gone to the Panda Breeding Center the day before and did not get there early, which meant the pandas were not that active. We were picked up from our hotel a little before 730am and were able to get into the park a little after 8am. Our tour guide knew her way around the park well and we were able to beat most of the crowds to a good spot to take photos of pandas eating, climbing trees, scratching their backs, etc. She took us to the baby panda area. Be warned that that area of the park is super crowded and can get a little pushy. We then took a leisurely stroll through the red panda area, where we had a red panda nearly walk over our feet. I’m so glad we got there early, because the crowds were so much larger when we were walking out around 1030am. We next went to a temple, and our tour guide gave us a lot of great historical information about Chengdu, Buddhism, Taoism, and architecture. We also had a great vegetarian lunch made by the monks and sat for an hour drinking tea and getting to know our tour guide. We the went for a walk through the wide and narrow alleyways for shopping. It was not as scenic as we were expecting, but still fun. The walk through People’s Park was great. We went on a weekday, so it was full of retired folks. I’m sure it would be more crowded on the weekends. Definitely recommend this tour if you are in Chengdu for a few days.

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide new exactly where to go to see all the pandas, including the tiny baby ones. It was a great experience at the temple with the incense and then vegetarian lunch. And then to walk through peoples park and to have dumplings and tea in the park. Our guide, Jenny, had excellent English and was great to talk to her when we were sat in the park. She was nice and personable and easy to talk to. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our private tour of Chengdu and visiting the Panda Breeding Center. Our guide was helpful, kind, and patient with my two small children. I would highly recommend this tour to other families traveling to the Sichuan province.

It was our first trip to Chengdu and we joined this day tour on the 2nd day.
Our tour guide Martin Zhu is great! He is professional in his field and caring
in his personality. My husband and I are blessed to have him for the trip.
We will definitely recommend him to any tourist who wishes to visit Chengdu.
Thank you Martin for the good time we had spent! :

Our guide, Rudy, was excellent and had actually worked at the panda reserve for 7 years so he knew exactly where to take us. Saw lots of pandas, both regular and red.
The city tour was great and I would recommend the ear cleaning. Had a delicious vegetarian lunch at the Buddhist temple. Had plenty of time for shopping. Rudy explained everthing.

Our family of four had a wonderful tour with Martin!! Highly recommend him!!! We were picked up promptly at our hotel and taken to our first stop at the Panda Breeding Center. The pandas were very cute and a favorite for our family. After a couple hours there we then spent the rest of the day enjoying the Temple, People's Park, and Kuan-Zhai Lane. We enjoyed lunch at the Buddhist monastery and enjoyable cups of tea later in the day. Martin was very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him. And since we are vegetarians he was able to help us select some delicious dishes for lunch. We wish we had booked another tour in Chengdu to be able to request him as our guide again. Overall the tour was just over 9 hours, a perfect day!!

Just a fabulous day in and around Chengdu. Our guide, Mars, and the driving arrived on time at 7:30 and we were at the Panda reserve by 8. You need to be there by then or skip the whole deal - it gets crazy crowded. Mars knew her way around the complex and it saved a lot of aimless wandering looking for Pandas. We saw loads of the bears in every conceivable circumstance - eating, playing, sleeping. The babies are wondrous. Off to the largest Shrine in Chengfu and then Wide and Narrow Alleys and finally People's Park including a stop for tea.

Overall this was an excellent and in our opinion, the ONLY way to see the Pandas and then city. A busload of 50 would have only made the day slower, less flexible and more crowded. The mini-van was clean and our driver Oh did a great job getting us around.

I don't give 5-stars to anything but Samtours and Mars were just that perfect
