The Cultural & Food Experience of Chinese, Indian & Malay Quarters was amazing! I have nothing but praise for Gerry, our host, and the whole experience! The food was great and plentiful, as were the drinks. The people who joined us on this tour were also delightful so we had lots of fun chatting and laughing together! I have done food tours all over the world, and this was, by far, the best! Gerry, our food guide fully immersed us into the culture of the three quarters. We visited and ate food that received Michelin stars, appeared on Netflix shows, and that Anthony Bourdain enjoyed. We met hardworking folks who are trying to keep their lifetime dreams and communities thriving. It wasn’t just food, we felt like we made lifetime connections. Fantastic way to get to know the lay of the land and the great food on our first day in Singapore.

Gerry went above and beyond to make this tour memorable. He makes this tour inclusive and personal. Despite a couple of American tourists inappropriately taking too much time to browse souvenirs at the stores, Gerry kept us entertained with Singapore history and culture. Food was abundant at each tasting and variety was excellent. You will learn how Singapore's national cuisine is tied in with its history of immigration and British rule. All in all, you will not regret embarking on this wonderful culinary journey with Gerry as your tour leader.

We were returning visitors to Singapore and were really impressed with Gerry’s cultural and food experience tour. His communication was excellent and we were delighted to be collected from our hotel and taken to the first stop. Gerry was a very interesting gentleman and we learnt so much about Singapore and its history and culture from him. Nothing was too much bother! The food and drinks were plentiful and delicious. We moved around Singapore using public transport which was fun. All four of us enjoyed our day with Gerry and would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Our guide Gerry was superb. He knew exactly where to go and chose places that made the best quality of food. The thing that struck me the most, as how he was so beloved in the local community. He made us realize the people preparing our delicious food didn’t have much money and appreciated the business he brought to them. I highly recommend this cultural food experience. Very eye opening.

We had lots of fun and laughs on this tour. Food was part of almost every stop. We learned a lot from Gerald. He was entertaining and hospitable. Gerald also had the tour planned so that our travel between stops was efficient. I recommend this tour.

This was THE BEST tour ever!!! Gerry is exceptional. He made Significant accessible on a level I didn't expect as a first time visitor. He really takes time to provide historical, cultural, and social context for contemporary Singaporean society. Restaurant selections were superb, places where locals eat well daily. Overall, a magnificent introduction to a beautiful country.

Gerry Tan was an amazing guide. Excellent communication before and after. He was attentive and kind. He was upbeat and engaged even though he has led this tour so many times over the years. Visiting the same spots could get boring for him, but he remained engaged and interested. He bought for us more food and drinks than any in our group could possibly take. He bought a variety of spicy and plain food so everyone enjoyed themselves. Most of the tour focused on food (about 65%). The other portion focused on history, culture, and shopping in side-streets. Be sure to tell Gerry what is most important to you, and he will focus the tour on that aspect -- food vs culture/education and Chinese vs Malay vs Indian. There is lots of walking, so wear good shoes. The weather gets hot quick, so take caution: fans, sunglasses, hats, sun umbrella, etc. Bring some cash for shopping because not all the street vendors accept mobile pay. If you want to experience a good variety of food and drink and real-life Singapore lifestyle and culture all in a 6-hour span (9:00am - 3:00pm), this tour would be a great choice.

This was a perfect tour to get a local perspective on Singapore history and life through the lens of food. Gerald was super friendly and informative and the small group made it easy to meet other travelers and have great conversation (and support local small businesses and the community). And the food! So good... But don't do what I did and book a big dinner that night. There was a LOT of food and I was full for a long time after.

This was an excellent tour, getting to see parts of Singapore that a tourist wouldn’t usually get to see. Also getting to sample many of the dishes that the locals eat. Our guide Gerry was friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you are visiting Singapore.

This tour is Fabulous! Gerry was in contact with us before the tour to explain the pick up process…on the day of pickup he also gave precise details, with no guess work needed on our end. Gerry is such a kind, funny, engaging and knowledgeable tour guide, we felt comfortable from the minute he picked us up, the tour began quickly and we were very impressed. Gerry takes you to the food halls of the different ethnic quarters, providing history and fun facts along the way. His attention to detail is amazing..even wiping down the table before the food arrives…the food is amazing, Gerry explains what each dish is and also provides a drink to go with it. Getting around is so easy, Gerry has that covered, a short ride on a train or a quick trip on the bus, all covered by Gerry! We finished the tour with a lovely gelato, said our thankyous and goodbyes as we hopped into the car Gerry has organised to take us back to our accommodation. I highly recommend this tour and would definitely go again if I’m ever back in Singapore!!

Gerry was phenomenal! He was the perfect host and guide. Knowledgeable of the areas, the food, the people. It wasn't just a terrific food tour, one of the best we've been on, it was a great tour of Singapore.
