Julie was an excellent tour guide she really knew the history of the castle, don't forget about the 1 o'clock gun. Highly recommend this tour!

We booked to celebrate an anniversary and wanted to pack in as much as possible so castle tour was up there. Dubious. Thought it could turn out a ‘boring’ history lesson. Angus was our host. We were the only English people on our trip and he was honestly amazing. He interacted with the crowd. Ribbed us. Had fun. He was honesty brilliant. I never thought I’d laugh as much on a serious tour. He actually made me wish he was my history teacher at school, we learned so much but enjoyed it at the same time. As we walked out we overheard other tour guides and compared to Angus they were boring, monotonous and ****. Thoroughly enjoyed and well worth the money. Thankyou Angus from the Durham lasses

Alistair was a great guide, eminently qualified to speak about the history of the castle and the events involving buildings. Alistair was funny with his dad historical jokes and kept track of all of us in crowded conditions. He set a quick pace but it was doable for all levels of age and fitness.
