My husband chose this tour based solely on the picture of the bikes! What a great day! Ken was so fun and personable! He also knew the stories and history of the area. The bikes really were fun, and each bike played beach music. Everywhere we rode people would smile and nod their heads to the music - we were literally spreading happiness! What a delightful experience. Ken has crafted every element of this enjoyable tour around the highlights of Coronado. He even crafted the bikes, which are high quality e-bikes engineered for a leisurely, no-effort jaunt around the island. The bikes include a sound system and built-in holders for your glasses, sunscreen and water. The handlebar grips and seat are custom leather. You will be admired as doing something really cool as you pass by the crowds on your tour. As for the tour itself, we enjoyed seeing the sites, learning about the history and getting the inside scoop on the Navy ships and research vessels passing by. We're already telling family and friends to come join us next time.

Best part of our trip to Coronado! It was a relaxing, fun, easy ride and Ken is a charismatic gentleman with a lot of history to share from the area. Saw so many neat places! And of course, the bikes are the COOLEST!

Ken provided a first-rate experience with his fat woody e-bikes. He provided us with a bottle of water and helmets. Since my height doesn’t work well with his custom bikes, he does have e-bikes that cater to the more petite crowd. My husband and I were fortunate enough to get a tour to ourselves. He led us around Coronado, showing us interesting landmarks and points of historical significance. He even has more historical info on his website if you’d like to dig deeper into what you’ve learned. He volunteered to take several sets of pictures of my husband and I for momentos. We spent four days in the San Diego area and this tour was the highlight of our trip. We would definitely recommend it!

My family and I recently went on the Fat Woody Beach Cruiser Experience and we had a BLAST!! The Fat Woody Beach cruisers are electrical assisted bicycles with fat tires ideal for riding on sandy beaches. They are meticulously individually designed and hand built totally from scratch by Ken McNeill, who is the owner and tour guide of this wonderful experience. The bikes are each colored in different and fun pastel beach colors with a matching helmet. Each bike has its own sound system that plays beach themed music as you drive along for an extra fun touch. When booking a tour, Ken requests that his clients carefully read the bike rider requirements for your body size and riding ability, but if you are a normal sized adult that can ride a bike, you’ll be good to go! If you are a short adult, like my wife and one of my daughters, he has very recently added an option just for you, which are smaller commercially made compact electrical assisted bicycles, which are also a ton of fun to ride! The rider requirements on his website also include safety information, and Ken is very serious about safety, for both his clients and any nearby on-lookers. One of the requirements is that you can ride a normal bicycle. You do need to be able to balance them after all! And these bikes do attract A LOT of attention! The tour started with us meeting Ken at a public parking lot on Coronado Island in San Diego. Ken started by explaining how the bikes work and how to safely operate them. The throttle and brakes are somewhat similar to a motorcycle, and riding it is very much like riding a regular bike - you can even pedal them if you want, or just let the electric motor do all of the work for you! After this introduction to the bike and the important safety talk, Ken asks that each person practice for a bit on a nearby flat grassy area in the park to get use to the bike, which didn’t take us long to do at all. My wife and one of my daughters rode the new smaller bikes for shorter folks, and my other daughter and I rode the custom made bikes. We all buzzed around on the grass for a bit and quickly got used to the feel of the bikes. Then, it was time to start cruising! Ken leads his tour groups around the beautiful island of Coronado, with frequent stops to point out various features and sites, and he provides a lot of interesting history about San Diego in general and Coronado in particular. We rode around the island, stopping at various points of interest for Ken to tell us about the history of Coronado and San Diego. And since taking photos while riding the bikes could be rather dangerous, Ken had us stop at several scenic locations so he could take photos of all of us riders, with all of these great sights in the background. He then emailed us the photos after the tour. This is much safer, allows the riders to just enjoy the tour, and he knows the best places to pose for photos. The cruise lasted a couple of hours or so, and once it was over, we returned to the parking lot where I took one of the new little bikes out and buzzed up and down an empty sidewalk for a bit to check it out, and that thing was a ton of fun too! By this time, it was mid afternoon, so we bid farewell to Ken as he packed up the bikes and we headed over to the nearby shopping area to have a relaxing snack and drinks at a local Mexican restaurant which looked out over downtown San Diego. The Fat Woody Beach Cruiser Experience was the highlight of our week long visit to San Diego and we all can’t wait to do it again!

My husband and I booked the Fat Woody Musical E Bike Tour while on our stay in Coronado. Wow….what an absolute blast we had!! Ken, the owner, designed each of these beautiful bikes. There truly a head turner. Ken is so patient on giving you clear instructions on how to operate the bikes and letting you test ride them so you feel comfortable. I’m 5’2 And was apprehensive if I could handle the bike because my feet were not flat to the ground and the bikes were quit heavy. Ken to the rescue! Went to his truck and pulled out a Mini Jupiter E Bike. It was perfect for me. 👍 Small but mighty! I have to admit I was a little disappointed I wasn’t going to be riding one of the Woody’s. Once we got cruising & listening to cool beach tunes while learning many interesting facts about Coronado ,by our awesome and humorous guide, Ken. Nothing else mattered. We were having a great time! I found myself wanting to purchase an E Bike for myself. If your in San Diego this is the tour to book. It will put a smile on your face.🤗

We really enjoyed our ride with Ken and his fantastic electric fat woody bikes! He is very knowledgeable about the history of Coronado island and very conscientious about taking pictures of our experience while also seeing to our safety. We had a BLAST! Super fun way to see the island !

The Fat Woody Beach Cruiser Experience was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of our trip to San Diego! I can’t recommend it highly enough. Everyone in our party LOVED it and said it was the most fun experience they had in a very long time! Ken, the owner/operator, did a fantastic job making sure we were well educated on the bikes and ready to operate them safely. The tour was filled with numerous stops for photos, refreshments and a bit of history, He provided a lot of incredible background on Coronado Island and, with a great sense of humor, made it very fun. He played beach-inspired music and catered to our every need. Upon the completion of our tour, he provided some amazing photos of the group, as well as each of us, all uploaded from his great photo equipment. I would recommend this experience to everyone looking to spend some fun time outdoors with family or friends. We will definitely go again next time we’re in San Diego.

What a fun, unique tour! We were on a cruise ship and San Diego was one of the stops. It was a 10 minute Uber from the port to Coronado where we met Ken and the bikes. The custom bikes are so cute and fun to ride. Ken was fantastic - super funny and great tour guide. I will say, I am 5'3" and could touch the ground when on the bike, but barely. You really should be a minimum of 5'3" even an inch taller would have made me feel more comfortable. Regardless, we had an absolute blast and would highly recommend!!

The bikes are colorful and gorgeous. It was so fun riding around with the music playing. Ken was extremely knowledgeable and funny. The time flew by. Highly recommend checking out this experience!
