Beautiful streets and architecture. Interesting stories, and cool views…. Grumpy tour guide, unprofessional, but knowledgeable.

Super entertaining tour: Bill was funny and knowledgeable and engaged all of us throughout. My group of friends had never been to Charleston and we were delighted to learn how instrumental the city was in the forming of our country

Chose this tour because of all the five-star ratings, but can't give it a five myself. It was decent, but by no means outstanding. We made a square basically and I feel like we did not see enough of the more popular and significant sights. Walked past the markets, went down one alleyway, a church with a graveyard, brothel, oldest house, slave mart, oldest bank, publisher, tavern and Rainbow Row. Guide was knowledgable and narrative interesting, but I would have appreciated just more facts, less perspective.

This was a lovely walking tour of Charleston with a very interesting historical narrative by our guide, Bill. The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting throughout. He was easily able to field all questions and adjust the tour to group interests. He always made sure to put us in positions so that the entire group could hear what he was saying. It was a fun experience for all.

Bill lead us on an unforgettable tour of historical Charleston. He is a gifted wordsmith and his background as a history professor challenges what you think you know and fills in all the corners to give you a clearer picture of the historical landscape. It is not all pretty but you will learn a lot and may want to have a beer with him after…

Bill was a great tour guide. He is a history teacher who is both knowledgeable, lively and allowed us to ask many questions. We learned a lot of interesting facts about Charleston's historical origins as well as a few surprising contributions that West Africans who were brought here (for slave labor) provided to America. We also learned about Charleston's economic, architectural and religious foundations. I highly recommend this tour.

Bill was our tour guide and he is quite knowledgeable and well informed on history in general, and particularly on the in-depth history of Charleston and South Carolina. He is a wealth of information and his tour could do no for days without repeating content. If you are planning a walking tour here is Charleston, Bill is the guy!

Bill, the tour leader, is quite the historian. He is remarkable in the depth of knowledge he has about Charleston's past and present. He had a keen sense of humor which brought fun to the tour, which is a breath of fresh air. (Some tours are so stiff.) I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Charleston. You won't find a guide with more passion for history. 👍

The tour was fine! Not outstanding nor bad. The tour guide Dustin was knowledgeable but wasn't the best fit for our group.

It was my first time visiting Charleston and I was hoping for an approachable overview of the city and its history as a bit of orientation. Bill delivered that and so much more with a clever wit, dramatic historical narrative, and more than a bit of local color and history to boot. I couldn't have asked for a better first exposure to the city. Bill didn't shy away from the grittier and darker aspects of Charleston's history and I feel like the tour was so much richer because of it. Do yourself a favor - book this tour immediately.

Dustin’s walking tour of Charleston is fantastic! His clear love of the city shines through with his many stories of Charleston’s rich history and cast of characters. He is deeply knowledgeable of both American and Charleston history as the information he shares goes well beyond what you’re seeing on the tour route. He’s got a gift for storytelling that makes it interesting, thoughtful, and, at times, humorous. I highly recommend!

A wonderful experience with lots of historical information about Charleston’s place in history. It’s not a story that will make you feel good about what happened in the past, but it’s one that has to be told. It made me want to know more, well worth the time.
