It was a bit too historical for me. I don’t know how the guide could remember soooo many exact dates and names! Amazing. 1.5 hours long with less facts would be perfect. Great town to visit.

Evans was our tour guide. He could not have been more knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and made the tour extremely interesting. One of the best guides we have experienced.

Dennis was the ideal tour guide- very knowledgeable, informative and fun! He answered all my many questions. We lucked out by having a small group, so there was minimal group wrangling and maximum history-telling. I would highly recommend this tour to visitors to Charleston.

We toured with Evans for the Historic Charleston Guided Sightseeing Walking Tour. He was excellent - very knowledgeable about the history and even botany of Charleston. Tour was well -paced also.

Dennis was an EXCELLENT tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable, concerned for our ability to hear him, tour well paced , open to questions, gave great food recommendations, other Charleston places to see.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the history and architecture of colonial Charleston, but the historic district is big, and you can only see a so much in a 2 hour walking tour. This was a great in depth tour of the French Quarter and Battery sections of Charleston, but next time I would schedule it in conjunction with a broader, overview, carriage tour.

Our tour guide, Dennis, made the experience great! He was knowledgeable, entertaining and funny. What a great way to learn about a fabulous city for those of us just visiting for a weekend.

I typically don't seek out walking tours when visiting cities but I will now. It was a fantastic way to see the city and hear all of the history. And I'd have to say most in part to our guide, Evans! He was so knowledgeable and funny - I highly recommend trying to get on one of his tours!

Went on this walking tour while visiting Charleston for a friend’s wedding. We loved the tour guide Evans, he was very knowledgeable and personable! We appreciated the details he shared about the homes/architecture in the area and he told stories about Charleston history that we’d never heard before. Note that you’ll be on your feet for the entire two hours - don’t recommend this tour if you need to take breaks to sit! Also bring water!

Incredible walking tour experience and the credit goes to our guide, Mark Jones! Not only did he grow up in Charleston with a love for the history of this city, but is a history scholar and author. He is so knowledgeable about Charleston and shared it within the larger context of what was happening in the rest of the country and world. I particularly appreciated his comments regarding slavery and his straightforward, factual approach to the sensitive aspect of the city’s history. He has been leading tours since 2000 and his experience shows.

What a wonderful historical tour of Charleston. Al was an excellent tour guide and we learned so much about the history and beauty of Charleston! Would do this tour again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Evans. He was so knowledgeable about the City! A great sense of humor along with a deep sense of pride in the rich history of Charleston and area. He had respect for other tour guides as you can’t help but pass other tour groups. My husband especially enjoyed the architectural highlights. We highly recommend the tour company, especially Evans. Money well spent!!

We had a terrific time with Dennis. He was very knowledgeable, told interesting stories, and it was clear he had done the tour many times because he knew all the rules of where to stop and stand. But still, he wasn't boring and was generally very excited to be sharing so much news with us. He pointed out great restaurants and we went inside a church and old theatre. The walking was not too much and unlike some tours, he didn't speed walk to his next destination so it was easy to keep up. We would definitely recommend Dennis again.
