My wife and I booked a "Bucket List" trip to Alaska and this tour became an important time for us. First and foremost our "Bus Driver and Guide" Brian made the trip so informative and entertaining. His local knowledge and infectious personality made our day and our tour. The second part of our tour was "Whale Watching". Our crew: Captain Kyle, Guides: Step and Sophie made the experience wonderful. We were privileged to see whales (Flame) and her baby (Sizzle) and seals. We really enjoyed seeing the baby whale practicing behaviours being taught by his mother.

Great crew!! Very knowledgable and friendly!! Made it back to the cruise ship with plenty of time to board. Tons of wildlife to see there.

We had a great time! We were able to see Orcas and Humpback Whales. Alaska Tales was very communicative, easy to work with and we felt we got our moneys worth. Would highly recommend them and we will use them again when we come back!

The excursions were amazing however the driver (Randy) needs some training on teaching and discussing Alaska and not his personal philosophies. We learned more about where he’s been, his kids, his grandkids, religion, philosophies, etc. then we cared to know. People on the bus were laughing and stating you can’t make this stuff up. Mark, Greg and Kristin on the whale watching were amazing. Definitely I do over trip as long as you have a different driver.

Had a fantastic time would recommend and would do it again. Saw whales nice newer boat not over crowded, also crew of Kyle, Greg, and Moni were very nice and knowledgeable. Overall great experience and better priced than from cruise ship.

Fantastic day trip Glacier was amazing such natural beauty could have done with longer there ! Trip to see the whales was perfectly run felt safe at all times and saw Whales too.

My adult son & I chose this tour when on our Alaskan cruise. Justin, Kacie & Nate were fantastic! Kacie knew a lot about Mendenhall Glacier and the humpback whales & orcas (we saw both!!). Every question asked was answered. I highly recommend this tour

Great experience and crew! Had a large family group of 13 and Alaska Tales relieved all anxiety with their great communication letting us know where to be and what to expect. Our ship changed the itinerary and Alaska Tales was on it right away sending me notice of rebooking to accommodate the time change. Corporate wasn’t the only positive. Capt Jason, Nate and shy Monica were great at welcoming us and letting us know what to expect. Really appreciated the safety precautions with my grandson and grand nephew on board. Nate had the patience of a saint answering my grand nephew’s many questions and still found time to give personalized attention to the other guests. The boat was the perfect size - small enough where everyone could see the whales and sit comfortably if they wanted yet big enough where I felt safe. Very professional and worthy tour group - oh and at significantly - did I say significantly- less cost than the cruise line, ESPECIALLY if you book early! Thanks Alaska Tales for a lovely family bonding experience.

Ben, James and Sophie our guides out whale watching were stellar!!!! Learned so much from Ben, it was like a mini class and we saw soooo many Humpbacks!!!! The ship was a perfect size and they were very respectful of the animals feeding. Just a dream come true. Our bus driver Randy was not cool at all and went on political and personal rants. Not a fan. But don’t let that stop you. This is a fantastic tour company. Would use them again. (Hopefully soon)

Fantastic experience! Captain James knew exactly where to go, while Naturalists Monica and Charlie whale spotted and gave us the best info throughout the trip. We saw Orcas and playful Humpbacks. Highly recommend.

Ben was phenomenal. Super friendly and knowledgeable. James took such care of us. Sophie was fun and informative. Saw lots of whales and sea lions.

So many whales!! We were a little concerned because it was so early in the season. But I lost count of how many humpbacks we saw. And we got a surprise getting pretty close to a pod of Orcas. Scenery was spectacular too.

The team of James, Charlie and Monica were knowledgeable and fun! Saw a family of Orcas even, which is rare. I would highly recommend!

5 Workers were friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all we saw lots of wildlife: humpback whales, sea lions, dolphins, birds, and eagles.

Due to stormy weather, our tour was sadly canceled halfway through the day. We were grateful that we got to complete the first half of the day at Mendenhall Glacier, and I received a full refund before we even got back to the ship. The glacier and the surrounding trails were beautiful, and we learned a lot from our driver Jay during our short time together. He shared a ton of information about Juneau and the local wildlife, he pointed out countless landmarks and sights along the drive, and he gave us a bunch of recommendations for locally owned bars and restaurants. All in all, we had a great experience and we would definitely book this tour again if we had the opportunity.

We had the most amazing time with Captain Mark, Kirsten, and Monica on the whale watching excursion. We hit the jackpot and saw a whale breech! We also had two other whales swim so close to the boat you could almost touch them! In total we must have seen over 15 whales. The boat was clean, comfortable, and the crew terrific. We were able to take many great pictures. The trip to the glacier was also outstanding. Our bus driver was informative, friendly, and funny! He was punctual and knew what he was doing. The glacier itself is incredible and a must see. All of this occurred on a cold, rainy day and these great people made this experience fun, memorable, and something that I would definitely do again. Highly recommended using Alaska Tales for your excursions while visiting Juneau.

Awesome views of the glacier and waterfall. Whale watching was outstanding. We were able to see several whales feeding and their calves playing in the water. Bravo Kyle, Steph and Sophie for an excellent show!

Mark, Kristin and Monica were great! Very knowledgeable and helpful! They shared lots of facts with us about whales and overall just made it a wonderful experience! We saw tons of whales and had a great time! Would recommend to anyone wanting to do whale watching! Loved that it was a smaller ma and pop too!
