This is the most popular hike to do along the Amalfi Coast and it is famous for its jaw-dropping views over Positano. There are several different ways to hike the Path of the Gods. The most common way to do this hike is to start in Bomerano, hike to Nocelle, and then continue the walk to Positano. By doing it this way, it is a one-way hike and mostly downhill. We took a bus from Furore to Bomerano. We reached Bomerano at 7.30AM and we started our hike. Once on the trail, we walked a mix of graded dirt and gravel trails, up and down large stone steps, and over rockier, uneven trails, over the course of the next few kilometers. Once we rounded the bend beyond the trail junction, the views really opened up. On this section of trail, there were a few ups and downs, but nothing too strenuous. We took our time, enjoyed the views, and took lots of photos. We loved this section of the Path of the Gods hike. Here are a few photos. For the next 2 km we were treated to breathtaking views along the Amalfi Coast. Towards the final third of the Path of the Gods trail until Nocelle, we started to head in and out of the forest. We lost some of the wonderful views, but since it was a hot day, the shade provided a nice break from the heat. The Path of the Gods trail’s first leg ends in Nocelle. There are a few small restaurants in this hillside hamlet. We stopped at the very first one, Chiosco del Sentiero degli Dei, and we all had a lemon granita, which is a lemon slush. Once we rested for 15 – 20 mins at Nocelle and we decided to resume our hike to Positano. The walk to Positano was 1,792 stairs from Nocelle to Amalfi Drive and then walk about 1.5 km to Positano. It took us about 30 minutes to descend the stairs and another 20 minutes to walk into Positano. A must do when you are in AmalfiGennaro’s great passion and an excellent knowledge of his home region makes every day and every hike a truly wonderful and memorable experience.
