Not only are the crew fantastic!!!! The food is really good. We did not realize how terrific the crew were until we went with another company ( I won't mention Hula Kai's name). Capt. Kevin, MJ, and Caitlyn (sp) were amazing!!! They were safety conscious, helpful beyond compare, kind, and funny. We stopped and saw scalloped hammerhead shark, spinning dolphins, and a whale and baby. Yes, a whale in May! We went with them a total of three times. We cancelled our plans one day and rebooked a morning snorkel because we had so much fun the previous day! Caitlyn helped a non-swimmer in our group regain confidence to swim. With MJ we didn't raise a finger. He was there to answer our every wish. I had finished my delicious lunch and he was right there and took my garbage. Amazing service!! Yummy snacks and fruit after the first snorkel was a very pleasant surprise. Loved the snorkeling, but the crew made our day special!

This snorkeling trip was amazing. It began as a small group at 9 am which was a perfect time. We went snorkeling at two different places and the captain Brendan was a Jack of all trades. He helped me, a beginner, so that I was comfortable in the water. He had snacks and lunch waiting for us each time we finished snorkeling. He was a knowledgeable guide on the way back to base, stopping to show us different things. What a wonderful tour. Would highly recommend.

This Sea Quest snorkeling trip was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. Lauren and Skylar were friendly, fun and knowledgeable captain and crew! We saw so many beautiful fish, plus a turtle, manta ray, and dolphins. Food and drinks were always available. Highly recommend!!!

I’ve been on other snorkeling trips, but sea quest is the best. They are a smaller, very friendly outfit. Each of the two locations we visited on the snorkel tour was unique. We saw loads of fish - I particularly loved the area around the captain cook memorial. Brendan our captain did a great job of helping everyone feel comfortable. The gear they provided was good so that we didn’t have issues with leaking foggy masks. We appreciated the additional stops along the coast to check out sea caves. The coastline is so dramatic and beautiful. Thanks for a great experience

Wonderful experience with Sea Quest. 2 great snorkeling spots in one trip. Great equipment. Super friendly and helpful staff. Captain Brendan was a great guide and master at the helm as we toured the coast line up close. Snacks and beverages waiting for us as we climbed back on board before headed for the next spot. Great snorkeling, great boat ride. Just a whole lot of fun.

This was a great, small group (6 people), snorkeling tour. Brendan, our Captain, was very patient with my 8-year-old daughter who never snorkeled. We snorkeled two spots, saw dolphins, viewed a host of sea caves and lava tubes, enjoyed plenty of snacks and food while learning about the big island and its volcanoes. I highly recommend!

Went out at 9AM with Capt. Skyler & Courtney. They were awesome, very personable and knowledgeable about the island. We saw a few whales on the way out and the way back. Two snorkel locations were great and quite different. We had about an hour snorkeling at each location. The covered boat was nice as it was a really sunny day. There was only our group of 6 on the trip so we really got to interact with the crew on a more personable basis. The snacks were great and you got to preselect your choice of sandwiches. We were back right on time after 4.5 hours on the water. Highly recommended. May seem a bit pricey but it was well worth it for what we got. The small group was nice as we hit the Capt Cook memorial sight when another large boat was still there and the place was way too busy. They left after about 10 minutes and we had the place basically to ourselves. The underwater scenery was amazing!! I'd do it again in a heartbeat, especailly with Courtney & Skylar.

We had a fantastic Kona Coast experience with Captain Brandon & (also a Captain) Lauren. Both could not have been kinder, more informative, or more accommodating to everyone on our Kona Coast adventure. They assisted those in our group who were new to swimming &/or snorkeling - helping them to feel comfortable and confident. We learned about Hawaii's mythological creation story and how it's echoed by the geographical history. We saw humpbacks, a sea turtle, and so much beautiful reef life from Moray & grouper partners to countless varieties of colorful triggerfish, butterfly fish, wrasses, tobys, tang, surgeonfish, puffers, unicorn fish, trumpet & coronet fish, parrotfish, and soooo many others! Lauren & Brandon answered all our questions, shared interesting history & stories, gave simple, clear instructions, and took great care of us. Thank you for a great day along Kona and helping us to better understand and appreciate the beauty and gift of Hawaii. Mahalo! Wendy & Chris

Great experience! We loved the small group and the staff were amazing. We saw so many fish, eels, and starfish. I highly recommend this snorkeling trip!

Sea quest was great. Our guides were great. They were entertaining and informative. The boat ride was fun as we got to go about a mile and half off shore. It hitting the surf was fun. The boat was covered which was perfect when taking a snorkel break. The snorkel equipment was clean and very good. We got to see lots of cool sea caves and arches along the way.

This snorkeling trip was amazing, the best I have been on. We went to two different sites and there was so many fishes to see, many different species. Captain Lauren and MJ were great, giving us a lot of interesting information, as well as taking out boat into some very small caves. Thank you for a great adventure!

Capt Brendan and mate Kourtney were great. They supplied good Rx masks. They let us linger to watch beaked and pilot whales and dolphins. They had good snacks, boat and equipment and provided a fun time. The Honaunau bay site didn't have much to look at. Capt Cook was loaded with viewing. Next time I'd do Honaunau bay from shore and just go boating direct to Capt Cook.

This was above any expectations we had! My mom and I went on this snorkel time and from the moment we got there till we left it was an awesome experience. Both of our captions were so nice and knowledgeable. They learned our names and would ask us how we were doing and learned a bit about everyone. It was nice too that it was only 12 people. The food was also so good and fresh. They had plenty to go around. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to snorkel.

Brendon and Kourtney were amazing! Very patient with us as we struggled to find parking. Really enjoyed the time spent with them and their patience while working with all the guests on the tour. Really appreciated the smaller group, information shared about the island, the lunch, and the boat ride. So cool, thank you!

We went on our tour with Captain Skylar, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were with a small group and he took us a bit offshore so that we could see the island from a new perspective, while he filled us in about the volcanic origins of the Hawaii islands. We then hit two snorkel spots, and we had ample time to explore both spots and see all the underwater sites, which were amazing! The first snorkel spot was next to a historic park, which the captain told us a bit about, and the next one was the Captain Cook monument, and we discussed the significance of that as well before we hopped in the water, and saw such amazing sea life! On the return trip, after lunch, because we were in a small craft, the captain took us right along the coastline and pointed out all kinds of lava rocks, arches, and the Red Hill, which is a geological formation that is thought to be Pelé herself! I couldn’t recommend this tour any higher. Note: My husband and I run our own boat tour in California, so this recommendation comes from experience. (and don’t forget to tip your captain!)

My family and friends, a group of 9 went on the Expedition South Kona and had a fabulous time. Each snorkeling spot was enjoyable and offered something different. The crew was extremely nice and took great care of us. I would highly recommend this tour and Seaquest.

We really enjoyed both our pilot and guide (both women!). They were knowledgeable and competent. It was important to us to go with a small group and we wanted to try several sites. The snorkeling was very good at both stops. Our second stop, near the Captain Cook Monument, was very crowded, and evidently can be much worse. Once the huge party boat rounded up all of it's guests, we were able to enjoy snorkeling without having to avoid other swimmers, who had literally been bumping into us, oblivious. Not the fault of our guides.There was a lot to see at both cites. Our travel to the sites was also informative and entertaining. We actually nosed into sea caves and lava tubes- great boat handling! Snacks, beverages selections and lunch were all tasty. We got a lot of actual time in the water and the boat was easy to get in and out of. A great experience,!
