Great guide and a awesome tour- critical if you are visiting the island! Comfortable bus and the guise took great care in making sure you got a good overview and history of the island.

We can highly recommend the tour of the Westman Islands by Eyatours. Our guide, Ebbi, is a lifelong native Islander, whose family goes back generations in the area to the original Viking settlement days. He is a treasure trove of information, stories and facts about the islands, its people and history. As a side project, he is renovating a Viking turf house replica complete with figures of the original settlers in the islands and their stories. He includes a visit there in his tour, and we found it utterly fascinating. After the beginning of May, the island is the site of one of the largest puffin colonies on the south coast of Iceland, and the viewing platform is in wonderfully close proximity to the colony affording superb photos. To wrap up an afternoon there, we would recommend a stopover at the local puffin and Beluga whale sanctuary as well which Eyatours can facilitate.

Ebbi is one of the best guides in Iceland. He was born in and lives on Westman Islands and is very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and love of the Island. This was one of our best experiences. Ebbi is very entertaining and we learned so much about the Island's history, people, culture, and - of course - Puffins. Ebbi made sure we saw Puffins and helped us get many memorable photos. You must see Westman Islands and going with Ebbi is the best way to see it. The person who booked our trip, Iris, was great and actually made the tour possible for us. We had MANY questions and and Iris was very courteous, patient, and helpful. Thank you Ebbi and Iris.

The tour guide was born and raised on the island. He seemed to know everything (and everyone!) and then some. It was clear that he loved showing his home to visitors. Fun, informative, and well worth it.

This tour is absolutely brilliant and so much fun. Ebbi is a fantastic tour guide, a local who is super knowledgeable and passionate about the island he calls home. He brings history to life (including the wonderful HERJÓLFSTOWN Viking museum which Ebbi has been instrumental in creating). He crams a whole lot into a short amount of time. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone who visits the island. I will mention that people with limited mobility might find the tour a bit difficult. There is a lot of getting on and off the bus as the tour visits many places.

Ebbi was knowledgeable and interesting in his descriptions of different historical sites on the island- his family has lived there for generations and he has a genuine and well deserved love of Westman Island. He was funny and allowed for questions and personal interactions throughout- definitely a highlight for us!

This a great tour if you’re spending time in the Westman Islands. Ebbi was fabulous and incredibly passionate. The replica of one of the first stone homes offered great insight as to how the first Vikings lived. Local school kids get involved with the ongoing project which makes it all the more amazing. You have to see the puffins (of course) and the volcano tours were great. Still recovering from watching the cliff climbing/swinging demonstration. That was wild to see!

The Puffin and volcano tour lived up to the hype! We truly enjoyed everything about this tour. Favorite places included the puffin lookout (of course) as well as the rugged coastline by the golf course and the Viking houses now made into a museum. We even enjoyed some Viking beer made by the tour owner, Ebbi, and his partners. Ebbi was a wonderful guide who made the tour fun and enjoyable.

Like so many others have said, our guide Ebbi was absolutely fantastic and really made this tour special. Great local knowledge and despite it being the last few days of the puffin season, we saw quite a few puffins flying overhead, and the best part was holding a rescued puffling before releasing it into wild! A must-do tour on Heimaey Island!

Extremely informative. Very organized. Went to all the key points. Very clean bus. The boat was on time and very clean and confortable.

This is an absolute must do! If you visit the island this is the best way to learn all about it and then some! Ebbi is so knowledgeable and makes the tour so much fun! We got up close and personal with the puffins! 1000% recommend!

The island is beautiful and worth visiting. We weren't sure if we were going to see many puffins since we visited at the end of the season, but we saw a bunch! Other bonuses were seeing the landscapes and sheep around the island. Seeing the viking house and other history on the island was also interesting. The ferry ride over to the island is also a great experience with great views. Highly recommend doing this tour.
