It was “fine” but food was MEH and drinks of any type extra. I felt like I was being constantly upsold including a chair lift. “Wine tasting” was a return 3 hours later to the same MEH restaurant to have shot glasses of wine with shot glasses 1/3 full. Between them not close to a single glass of wine. More time trying to sell us bottles of the wine we nearly tasted. Lots of walking and stairs with guide constantly hurrying us along. Limping old guy really struggled and guide was constantly on him.

TDLR: great views. Great guide. Choice of restaurant and organization was not good. The pros: Villi our tour-guide was amazing, HILARIOUS, knowledgeable and extremely helpful and accommodating. The views on the river were incredible and the info was clear. The restaurant we went to was very unique in its decor, lots of photo ops. The cons: overall lack of organization. Our first pit stop was the restaurant Zum Anker. The people at the restaurant were not ready to handle all of us (i think our tour was uncommonly large) and the lady server was extremely rude and not accommodating at all. Then we went on the boat, but it was a little confusing which one was our group so we almost got left behind (that was on us tho). Then after the boat we went BACK to the restaurant for wine tasting, and again the lady was so rude and not letting anyone sit down. Just a down right mess. The wine tasting is in these little shot glasses and they were all terrible, which is sad considering that we are on the Rhine. They should have combined the wine tasting with our meal. Then we went on a ski lift, which was cool with amazing views. But a lady in our massive group lost her phone and in the process of recovering it our van was gone? And we had to walk in the middle of the forest to find our van, just for it to drive us back where we were suppose to meet it. Then the lady FOUND her phone (of course.. at that damn restaurant) and we had to drive back to get it. At that point we were kinda over it.

Excellent views. Knowledgeable and merryful guide. Restaurant for dinner and wine tasting was the exact opposite: v. dark, narrow, and gloomy, and full of ugly idols and sculptures.

Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He was a mountain of knowledge and quite the sense if humor. The lunch was great in the most interesting restaurant. We thought we would be going to a winery for the wine tasting but it was back to the restaurant where we received 4 tastings of wine the size of a thimble.

Our experience was mixed. The welcome, bus ride, river ride and guide were excellent. We had an excellent guide who was a great mix of funny and helpful. He made the trip pleasant. The boat trip was fine but seemed short. The views were lovely even if the "castles" we saw were nothing memorable. We did have an excellent bottle of sparkling wine for 28€. The "Irish" coffee they recommend was around 9€. The lunch was a disaster. So bad in fact that you should skip it and bring your own lunch. It was poor quality, some reheated canned mess and the wine was equally bad. There is a wine tasting at the end back in the restaurant. You are given 4 thimbles of wine. I really don't see the point of it and it would have been a better choice to spend another hour on the boat. The experience if pricey for what you get. The tour guide should leave to form his own tour.

This was an amazing trip and excellent value for money. We were picked up at 11 am in Frankfurt and driven through part of the Rhine Valley for our included lunch. En route we were given an interesting and informative outline of the area and its history. after lunch we embarked on the boat for a one and a half hour cruise along the Rhine, including a visit to the Loraley Rock. Later we disembarked and drove back to Frankfurt with a stop for souvenirs. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative and the drive very careful. All in all a magical day!

The boat trip and Niederwald Park were great. Our guide was very informative and funny. It would be nice to have wine tasting while on the boat. The gift shop had quality items and not just junk.

Going tour guide, great knowledge of the history and place. Good lunch place. Value for money tour. I think the timing was good but for some weather issues

This was a great day. We had beautiful weather and the lunch was excellent. Really enjoyed the riverboat cruise. Our guide and driver Michael really made the trip special. I highly recommend this trip, especially in good weather.

Michael (I'm sure spelled wrong) our driver and guide was very good, kind, enthusiastic, accommodating and all the good things you want from a tour guide. The part that wad weird and not for everyone (some people might like it), was the restaurant we went to for lunch. When you are effected by environments this is not the place for you. And overly decorated hodge podge of "stuff" along with a wait person, possibly the owner/operator was not very warm. She seemed like her priority was about making additional money off of us, then just what was included with the tour. I paid 8,80 euro for 2 bottles of water. And it was very obvious gratuities were expected. Another person in my party had extras and they paid cash and never got their change back. And then we came back after the cruise fr a wine tasting (a sip) which was obviously a way to muster up additional funds for the same restaurant. The river boat cruise was AMAZING, the vessel and crew were fantastic. It's definitely the best way to see a portion of the Unesco Site of the Rhein. You will be appreciative of the costs of the tour once you see a viking river boat cruise by and think of how much they are paying vs. what you are paying. Where the cost of this tour comes into play, is the luxury of having Michael drop you off and pick you up and make the drive and a very comfortable 20 person bus, with approx 1 hour each way. We also had a stop at the amazing large bronze statue at a park at the top of the hill, was absolutely beautiful. Over all I'm very pleased with this experience. Do I think you could do this all cheaper on your own, sure, but the convenience is the custom service to you. This would be a 5 star review if it was a different restaurant experience both for lunch and wine tasting.

Definitely the highlight of our trip. In particular, the river cruise. We didn't want it to end. We were so enamored with all the different towns, castles, and churches along the river. The wine tasting in the quirky restaurant was also fun. Our guide was informative and funny. Fond memories.

Viewing of the castles was outstanding. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The lunch was really good. Wine tasting was at the same place as the lunch. The amount of wine we tasted was less than desirable. my understanding is a 4 ounce pours normal for a wine tasting.

We especially liked our guide Willi, he was knowledgeable, considerate, and very funny as he told us many facts about the region as we drove! We loved the cruise on the Rhine , it was beautiful! The lunch was also very good in a very interesting and well decorated restaurant ! Thank you Willi for making our trip so special yesterday! Sue and Jon from Florida!

Super day adventure. The guide was a wealth of information. The lunch was great. We had a choice between pork schnitzel and a beef hot dog type meal. The schnitzel was the better of the two in my opinion. The pork was lean and flavourful. The cruise was a very new boat. This is off peak season so our group of 16 people were the only ones on this huge boat. They served desserts and drinks and the service was great there too. We saw a lot of castles. After the cruise we went back to the same restaurant on the way back for wine tasting. Tiny tastes of wine, but it was a nice experience. Our guide explained the local wines, etc. The restaurant was an experience in itself! Impossible to fully explain: It was full of carvings and glass with the most beautiful lighting and ambience. We stopped briefly for souvenir shopping while the driver got gas and I bought a cuckoo clock. It will be a family heirloom. It was $100 cheaper than in Frankfurt city center.

We had such a pleasant experience and our tour guide Michel was excellent! He made the trip absolutely fantastic. He gave so many fun facts about the beauty of the Rhine, and even had some fun jokes to share along the way. The ride was comfortable and wine tasting was excellent!
