Perfect afternoon trail ride with the family. Summer was our guide and she made us all feel welcome and gave us an insight to the history of the area. Very enjoyable and would definitely return.

Me and my husband did a beginner friendly horse riding tour with Kat, and we enjoyed it so much! Horses are super sweet and calm, Kat explained everything very thoroughly, some of the details we didn’t know before even though it’s not our fist time horseback riding. She also told us a lot about the area and took nice photos! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! Made our day!

The experience was amazing! The horses have such personalities and are so beautiful. The instructors were amazing and kept everything very simple! There was also a ranch cat and ranch rottweiler ❤️ they are so gorgeous! The view is also so incredible and you don't have to be experienced in riding to do this and feel comfortable. Highly recommend 🙌

We did a two hour trail ride with Blandine with our two kids under 12 - both kids have some horse-riding experience. Kelly was there to help us set up and both Kelly and Blandine were super friendly and helpful. They selected horses appropriate for each rider's ability and comfort level. The ride was beautiful - through some small creeks and the gorgeous hillside around Cardrona. We all had a great time but this was a major highlight for our children who had been begging for a trail ride given all the awesome outdoor activities we enjoyed throughout our stay in New Zealand. I've never ridden a horse before and I had no issue on the ride. Nor did the ~5 year old in our group 😄. That said, this is a great trip as long as you understand that this is a walk only ride. We knew this going in, so we had a great time. I rode Danny and he was my dude. Very chill and easy to ride. I hardly had to do anything. Emily was our guide and was very helpful to give me the basics of horseback riding in a very short amount of time so that we could get going on the trail. She also took some great pictures of us. If you're an experienced rider, the Discovery Trail probably isn't the one for you (there are others you can do). If you're a first timer or looking for a leisurely walk among the scenery, this is the one for you. Either way, Cardrona horses trekking is the place to go!

Great experience. Our guide Kelly was so helpful and amazing, great tour, beautiful views and ride. Nice way to see some of the country side and upper hills.

What a fantastic experience. Kel was so experienced and instructive with the kids and made us all feel really safe when we were new to riding. By the end of our stunning two hr trip we were all happily trotting along having had a fantastic experience. Would really recommend for anyone but for us with small children it was perfect.

Very nice experience! The horses are sweet and well behaved and riffing through nzl nature is amazing, however quite pricey for what you get.

Amazing!! The horse riding trail was so much fun and the view was beautiful. The instructors were clear when they gave their instructions before and during the ride. They where supper nice and helpful. This ride is suitable for all levels. I am experienced but there were also beginners on the ride and it was fun for all!!!!! If you have time when you are in Wanaka or even Queenstown as it’s not that far, I recommend visiting The Cardrona Horse Riding. I will definitely be back!!!!!!! Thank you to all the staff!!

Lovely Laura took my daughter Brooke and I out today and we had a fabulous time. Laura was so informative and made sure we were all set up and happy before we set off. Brooke is an experienced show jumper, yet found this ride and whole experience so much fun, all the horses were great. Was lovely to see how well these horses and loved and cared for. Magical spot up high with spectacular views and neat river crossings. We’ll be back!

It was an amazing experience riding through the Cardrona Valley, and it was so nice to slow down and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. The horses had such a lovely nature, even my husband with no riding experience had a great time. Laura, our guide was full of knowledge about the area and made the ride fun. I would highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Beautiful, well behaved horses, an energetic and funny guide and the most stunning scenery. I went with my daughter (8 years) and she loved trotting and cantering on her horse, Morgan. Highly recommend.

Beautiful quiet horses perfect for beginners or intermediate. My daughter and I had an awesome ride. Kel is very safety conscious and takes the time before the ride to ensure both horses and riders are good to go.

Our ride with guide Laura was fantastic from start to finish. Riding up into the mountains through the snow was a once in a lifetime experience. Laura was very informative and helpful throughout the ride. She made sure my daughter and I had a truly wonderful time, something we will never forget.

Fantastic experience for myself and my two children (8 & 10). Guide Kim was great, as a novice rider I felt very comfortable. My children have some riding experience and Kim was able to cater for them too. Stunning scenery, well worth it. Highly recommend, from booking to the ride.

My sister went for the horse ride but I went buggy riding and it was really fun. The views were amazing and the people were really nice. I liked hanging out with Morgan the friendliest cat in the world and Barney. I had a really great time and I hope that we can go there again someday.

What an amazing experience, cannot recommend it highly enough! Magical scenery, beautiful horses and Kel is a great guide. We are all inexperienced riders and our youngest is only 6, so we were a little apprehensive about a 2 hour trek. However, the horses are very well trained and there is the option of leading the young rider'shorse, which we chose. Kel made sure we were all safe and relaxed, which made for a beautiful experience. The kids also loved Barney the dog and Ettie the cat. Thank you for such a special time.
