So many stops, multiple incredible food tastings at each! If you want passionate, genuine local guides and the best Greek food in Athens you have to do this tour. If you want them to have to roll you home with a smile on your face you have to do this tour. 10/10. Just book it already!

Rachel was fabulous! We ate so much tasty food. She knows everyone and all the right places to go for authentic Greek food. Very knowledgeable about Greece and the culture and cuisine. A must do in Athens.

This tour was so much fun! Our guide was personable and knowledgeable. She was very attentive to our small group. We ate so many delicious things! She was also flexible if we asked for a few extra minutes at a stop for shopping. We did this tour the same day we arrived in Athens. The walking was very manageable, especially after being on such a long flight. This was a perfect way to start our trip.

I highly recommend this food tour. Rachel, the owner, was fantastic! Make sure you arrive with an empty stomach! You will have plenty to eat. We did this the first day we arrived. Perfect for the afternoon while you wait for check in.

This was a fantastic tour. Rachel was so informative, fun and lovely and took us to parts of town that YouTubers had warned us not to go to as it was a bit ‘sketchy.’ It was perfectly safe during the day and really interesting. We saw where the locals shop and eat and got tips on great restaurants for after the tour. The food was amazing…there was plenty of it and we learnt things that we will take home with us. There was only 7 of us on the tour which made it more personalized and enabled Rachel to get to know a bit about each of us. At the end we feasted on delicious food and wine and Rachel hugged us all goodbye and offered us to contact her if we needed any tips or help whilst in Athens. We felt like we made a friend. If you want a glimmer into what makes Greek food so amazing, this is the tour for you! Mike took us to all the small local establishments and introduced us to the freshest ingredients and the best local fair that Athens has to offer. We had a blast. Everywhere we went we met “friends of Mike’s”. I can see why so many people adore him. It was truly an amazing experience.

Mike was an incredibly knowledgeable and fun guide. He took us to all the markets, had vendors teach us about honey, olive oil, olive, Feta, fish, meat, and spices. We tasted everything and then had a traditional Greek lunch with wine or Ouzo.

The tour was so much more than expected. Mike was a wonderful guide, and we learned so much about the foods, history, and culture of Greece. We got to see restaurants, boutiques, and the markets, which were incredibly interesting, and the walking tour allowed us to see so much more than we would have on our own. We also met lovely people who were in our group, which was small and intimate, just the right size. Would recommend this tour to everyone visiting Athens!!

To tour with Mike was like being with a friend. His knowledge was extensive and his pride and passion for his home town of Athens was palpable. We felt like we saw Athens and its culture from the inside. A very unique and worthwhile experience.

This is our second tour with Food Around Athens. The first time was in 2019, not long after Rachel and Michalis had started the company. Both Rachel and Michalis were with us and we had such a good time with them the tour was supposed to finish at three (pm) and it was six when we said goodbye. But of course it wasn't goodbye because we had become good friends and therefore you could say we're biased. On to 2024. We arranged to do the lunchtime walking tour and Rachel was our guide. There were two other "walkers" last Thursday. The tour is really well structured. It's fun and informative and on top of that, it's delicious. You will be bombarded with flavours from savoury to sweet. Rachel & Michalis know and love their subject and their city. Time spent listening to them, visiting honey, wine, olive oil and olive producers, as well as sampling many different dishes enroute can't fail to convince you that Greek food is the best. And it's all here in Athens. The big bonus is that they are wonderful company.

My wife and I did this tour with Rachel and a small group of very nice people while on vacation in Athens. Our first food tour and it did not disappoint. Rachel was not only knowledgeable and full of local tips but a great sense of humor, amazing story teller and genuinely good person. The food tour was great.
