What an amazing way to spend 4 hours. Our guide, Luca, was fun, knowledgeable and we learned so much about the food and history of Testaccio. My teen who only ‘eats beige food’ tried everything and really got into the whole experience. Thought I was going to burst from all the food by the end, but would do this all over again, as the variety, quality and sheer enthusiasm of our guide and all the wonderful people we met serving up delicious morsels was unprecedented.

Everything was amazing! There was SO much food! Every place was so unique and our tour guide was the absolute best. If you are thinking of booking this tour, DO IT! You won’t regret it!

What an amazing tour! It was recommended to us by a friend so we knew it had to be good, but this exceeding expectations. Our guide Rish was fantastic! He not only was very knowledgeable, but his passion for the food and culture was clear and present throughout the tour. We especially loved how when we were in the market, so many people came up to him, showing that he truly is part of the community. It is so hard to pick out a favorite stop along this tour - it was so fun to try all of the different foods (our favorites included the pastry with pistachio cream at il Gianfornaio, the fresh bruschetta at the market, and the porchetta on foccacio at the market). It may seem like 4 hours is a long time, but trust us, it went by quickly! While the food can speak for itself, it would not have been the same without having Rish guiding us along the way. Thank you, Rish!

The Testaccio food tour was very comprehensive. Our guide, Lucca, was extremely informative with much detail about the history of the area. He combined this with a interesting history of the food we would sample. He was personable and readily entertained and responded to questions from our group. All of the food provided to our group was very good. If there was perhaps one drawback to the tour was the amount of food offered. We were very "full" when we completed the tour. I might also suggest a little more time touring the Testaccio market. We would definitely return to Testaccio; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Luka had a great personality and a wealth of information about Rome cuisine the food and drink were great!

I gave 2 stars because we take some responsibility for booking a tour that was far away from our hotel. We allowed ourselves an hour and thought we even would have extra time. When we got off the metro said we would arrive at 10:17. It started to rain really hard and we lost cell service. I had looked at map and new direction but we got off track. We arrived at 10:34 to an open Piazza. Should have seen a small group! Why a bad review? We tried calling but this was a third party tour through the Tour guys. We tried calling all phone numbers. I have done food tours before and even though we haven't been late others have caught up to group. Shouldn't be hard your on foot in a relatively less populated area. It was after 11 before some one got back to us to tell us they could catch the tour. We even went to the market! We were in another tour in Florence that called us starting 30 minutes before to make sure we were coming. These guys had our phone number and never tried. This was a small group less than 12 or 10 so with the rain you might think they would try contacting you.

Luca is a wonderful guide! He was very accommodating and paid particular attention to guests with special needs and food allergies. We will recommend this tour to everyone visiting Rome!

We had a fantastic time. Our guide was named Luca and he was great - funny, charming and patient. We ate at probably five or six different places. He was great with kids and he made us feel important! Food was fantastic and we would never have found it ourselves.
