Jose David, our guide, immediately made what could have felt overwhelming into a wonderful experience. He took our pace in stride and showed us Kyoto’s amazing temples, shrines and gates. He knows the Japanese history very well and answered all of our questions. He showed us and explained to us the detail of Japanese culture we would have missed on our own. He’s a must for a very enjoyable day! A memory worth the value!

Jose was an amazing guide as he took us on our journey through the beautiful city of Kyoto. Highlights include kinkakuji, eating at local Japanese pancake restaurant, and walking through pontocho alley. We had a full day private transportation tour of Kyoto with Tad and it was amazing! Right off the bat, Tad was accommodating and helpful as we were traveling with our one year old baby. He even brought a child seat with him which made things so much easier! Tad’s knowledge of Kyoto was outstanding. Without his guidance we would have not known all the amazing facts about each spot we visited. As we navigated through the sea of people during cherry blossom, Tad took us to places where there we less people, making the day tour more enjoyable. Esteban was the perfect tour guide for our time in Kyoto. 8 hours is a long tour but he was so flexible with us to take it as fast as we wanted to more leisurely. 3 words - Laura our guide. She was incredible. We went all over Kyoto and had the most amazing time. She was incredibly knowledgable and flexible in our tour and took us to things/places we would have never thought to see by ourselves. The 8 hour tour flew by and we had an incredible time. First, it’s important to understand that this is a WALKING tour. Be prepared to spends the whole day either waking or using public transportation. Pubic transportation might be packed with people so be prepared to be on your feet most of the day. Our guide Cristobal was amazing! Very knowledgeable, accommodating with a superb personality. He took us to the places we asked, took pictures of us, explained about everything and navigated through the trains smoothly and efficiently. I truly believe that this is the best way to see Kyoto. Just a perfect amazing day! Highly recommended

Jose David was an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide. He took us all over the city and not only did we see more sights than we ever expected, we learned to navigate the subway and bus system and learned about the culture of the area. He was so helpful with my mom whose walking was limited and had to be in a wheel chair most of the tour.

Esteban was our thoughtful & knowledgable guide that curated a perfect itinerary. We started at Fushimi Inari (Shinto ) temple where he explained details about the religion, took video/pics at perfect locations and even offered his own coins for us to provide offerings to take part in. He was more than a guide, he’s a friend and part of our memories.

Our guide Esteban was delightful! We took the Shinkansen to from Tokyo to Kyoto on the morning of our tour and then were taking the train back in the evening, and Esteban created an itinerary that allowed us to hit all of the highlights within our timeframe. He was also flexible in changing things up when we made certain requests.

We had an amazing visit to Kyoto, thanks to our guide, Juan Esteban. He is absolutely the best tour guide we've ever had. We did 2 tours in Kyoto with Esteban... the evening Gion tour and the full-day Kyoto tour. It was a delightfully informative tour. Esteban really knows a lot about Kyoto. We especially enjoyed his storytelling of the legends, culture and history of the places we visited. Without which, we would not have appreciated the places as much. He was also very accommodative to our needs and very patient, waiting while everyone in our group finish. He also takes care to speak and interact with each person in the group. The best part was he took us on the best routes to avoid the crowd so that we could take the perfect family photos. Booking the tour was very easy though the Kyoto Daily Tours website. Very quick response and deposit to confirm. Also I established WhatsApp communication from the time of booking. So exchanging of info was really spot-on. Few days before our arrival, we were assigned Juan Esteban as our guide and we communicated through WhatsApp directly... what we want to do, see, where to meet... etc... Honestly, I was a little apprehensive when we were assigned a non-native as our guide... but by the end of our tour, we all felt Esteban really did a wonderful job of showing us the beauty of Kyoto because of his own deep love of the people, culture and place... and passion for his job. I totally recommend Kyoto Daily Tours 100% to everyone looking for a guide of Kyoto...

We had a great time with Juan Navarro as our guide. He was very knowledgeable brought an outsider / insider perspective to this unique city and country. He was flexible in designing the day with our young family in mind and was patient and unhurried but was able to modify and make sure we saw what we wanted. He also helped us buy travel tickets and explaining all the nuances of the logistics and buses too! Thank you!! My family of 4 (with teenage kids) enjoyed a truly magical journey with Juan Navarro across 2 days in Kyoto and a day in Osaka. Never having been to either city (although we’ve had many previous trips to Tokyo and Hokkaido), Juan showed us the unique charm of each of the shrines and temples we visited, giving us an expert introduction into the protocols for each venue and nuance of religion. He curated a very efficient schedule, taking us to 4-5 iconic destinations on each day, always checking in to make sure we were not too tired ( we clocked up to 20,000 steps a day) and would make adjustments if needed. Looking back, the itinerary was perfectly curated, not too ambitious yet covering all the key spots (and at the right times for the best lighting). We were never more than 20mins between sights, traversing the city in a mix of public transport and walking - as locals do. I’d absolutely recommend Juan Navarro and his team to anyone looking for an expert guide and a magical experience in Kyoto / Osaka!

We had a fabulous day tour of Kyoto with Esteban! He prepared a perfect itinerary for us (just 2 guests) and we feel like we saw all of the best of Kyoto that is possible to squeeze into a day tour including the Torii Gates, incredible temples, zen gardens, and walking around various neighborhoods. He was open to itinerary adjustments based on specific interest, too. We had been in Japan for almost a week before doing this tour and he filled in so many gaps for us and answered so many questions while traversing Kyoto buy foot, train, and bus.
