One of the best day trips I’ve taken. Our guide Rafael was a wonderful host. He was knowledgeable, considerate and fun. He engaged with everyone in the group and created a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely do it again.

The scenery, the hiking and the tour guide! Rafael led our group with respect and we all had a wonderful day in Penado Gerês National Park.

We had a wonderful time with our guide Antonio. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in the trekking to the falls. While driving he provided details on the surrounding area. Luck was wonderful! This was a great tour! Antonio was great!

Tour was amazing! Even though the weather was not great, we had an excellent day. The terrain is slightly difficult if not somewhat used to hiking over rocks. Antonio was great, very attentive and knowledgeable of the terrain. I would definitely recommend and would do it in the summer! Thank you Antonio for the great service!

What a beautiful tour. This is a must do if you're in Porto. The trip was beautiful and the falls amazing (chill though so be ready). Pedro made the trip fantastic. He was so very accommodating and made sure we were safe and well taken care of. Thank you for such a great day!

This trip was a mixed bag. The waterfall was beautiful, the lunch and village tour were great. The second destination hike was problematic. The guide said it was an easier walk, uphill but a smooth trail with switch backs. About 1/3 of the way there the trail disappeared and we had to squeeze between boulders and climb over boulders. The guide got lost a couple of times and we had to double back. When we got to the overlook, it was up the road maybe 1/2 mile (1k) up the road from where he parked the car. We could have driven there or walked up the road and been sparedthe bruises. The hike didn't have any views or sights that were worth seeing along the way.

One the best days of our trip without a doubt, we loved being able to get in some fresh water! It was really nice to take a break from the city and venture out with a guide like Diogo. He did a wonderful job explaining what we were seeing and sharing the history and cultural aspects of the areas we were in.

We weren’t sure what to expect for this tour but everything was amazing. Every place we visited was beautiful, the hiking was exhilarating and the lunch was delicious. We can’t say enough good things about this tour and our tour guide Rafael who really brought the group together and made our day both enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommend to everyone.

Fun trip with a lot of hidden places to explore. Even though it was an extensive 1 day ride, it is only a drop in the ocean compared to what you can find in Gerês. Multiple visits are recommended, especially during different seasons!

This trip was the absolute highlight of our trip to Portugal. It is a must! Was so refreshing to get out of touristy porto and into nature! We had beautiful green, lush mountain views, fresh crisp air, quaint small village towns, swims under waterfalls in the natural mountain pools. An experience of a lifetime and worth every cent. Our guide Renata, was super knowledgeable about the geography, history and facts in the areas we were visiting. We learned so much. I went with my 10 year old son and she was very attentive to making sure the mountain driving was calm and safe. Recommend this tour !!!!

Although this tour matched the description and our guide, Mariana, was great, this trip wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. We mainly wanted to explore the park and this tour primarily provided swimming opportunities. The hike to the swimming areas, especially to the first one, was VERY steep and slippery. One could easily hurt themself if they were not careful. It was definitely not the exploratory hike through the park that we were hoping for. However, the fault was ours for not selecting a tour that better matched our goals, not the operator’s or our guide’s fault. If you are looking for swimming opportunities in gorgeous locations, this is the tour for you.

A simply amazing day. We lucked out with the most beautiful weather imaginable and the best guide. While it’s a bit of a long drive (1.5 hours from Porto), we enjoyed the company of Renate and our fellow travelers. The park is wonderful, both the natural environment and the villages that exist inside it. We learned about our surroundings from Renate and shared a lovely lunch outside with an incredible view. The hiking was not long but probably not advisable for anyone with any mobility issues. We had the opportunity to swim twice in the ice cold but refreshing water and made our way, somewhat treacherously, climbing over big rocks, sometimes slippery. Bring good water resistant shoes or a second pair in case the first get wet. We are a family of four (kids 9 and 11) and we all loved the adventure.

Good tour and sites visited very scenic. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Tour lunch was very good. Only downside is that the vehicle, with 8 onboard, is very cramped, stuffy and uncomfortable, especially if people travel with day packs.

Our Exploring Peneda Gerés trip combined an extraordinary guide, a carefully organized itinerary, lovely meals to make a very special trip. In addition, the small size and multi-national composition of the group enhanced the experience. I loved every minute of it. Thank you very much

Emanuel was a great and patient guide and shared a lot of interesting knowledge about the park and the village population. The areas we went to were beautiful and the lunch restaurant was also very good. Thank you for the positive experience!

Certainly the “swimming hole” was awesome and fun but the hiking and scenery were just spectacular Emmanuel, our guide, was fun, informative and flexible. We were 5 separate guests and he listened to us all and made sure he found something interesting for all of us. If you have the time don’t miss out on this tour.

Renate our guide was excellent, with an intimate knowledge of the local village and its people, the walks and swimming spots were amazing and lunch was delicious
