I admit to being a little apprehensive when I saw the Rib we would be in for this trip, but it was fantastic fun! We were lucky enough to witness two different pods of dolphins, Striped and Spotted and it was exhilarating to be amongst them and watching their antics, especially the Spotted ones who were happier with our presence and hung out with us for a while. The guys on the boat were great and so professional and friendly. They also picked up a couple of bits of plastic that they found floating, so doing their bit to keep the sea clean. My husband and I loved this trip and enjoyed the ride, however, one poor chap did get very sea-sick, so if you know that you are prone to this, it might be better to pass on it. But, if you love being out at sea and want to take a chance on seeing some dolphins and/or whales you are bound to have a fantastic time!

Professional and kind staff who take care of their stewardship towards the animals that we are watching. The small boats make H20 agile enough to see up close the dolphins. Unfortunately, the whales weren’t out, but we will be back.

One of the most magical experiences of our lives, within 15 minutes of the trip starting we saw a Blue Whale - just amazing! We were all speechless, we then saw 2 types of Dolphin and a Turtle so we really could not have gotten much better. The guys on the boat were brilliant, they knew so much about the animals and a great deal of respect was paid to them too as we stayed a good distance from them and they were sure to turn the boat engine off to keep the waters as quiet as possible which I really appreciated 😊 thank you H20 for the experience, I cannot recommend you enough to absolutely anyone. Memories I will treasure for a lifetime.

Excelent experience, friendly and knowledgable team. Small boat so be aware if that’s not your thing, but it’s great fun. We were very lucky to see 3 species in a relatively short trip: bottlenose and common dolphin and a rare siting of a blue whale. Of course you can’t guarantee anything but their success rates are good.

Fantastic experience seeing 2 species of the planet's giants: a group of around 30 sperm whales and a solitary huge fin whale - breathtaking !!! The trip was brief and efficient in a 12 person inflatable raft, a fun and cool experience under the hot Madeiran sun. The guide and skipper were extremely professional and knowledgeable - we even got their pro pictures of the whales the same day!!! All in all, you'd be a fool to miss this tour so book them right away, you won't regret it!

The best company for dolphins and whales watching for sure! Captain and guide were great, lots of info about animals, dont hesitate to ask! It was fun, a little bit of adrenaline when chasing the whales. They have spotters in the island so we got lucky and saw bottlenose and striped dolphins plus sperm whales. Recommend time in the afternoon. H2o is the only company that offers also swimming with the animals, when there are good conditions. Such a great experience! :))

Very slick operation. We saw common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales. Team even collected litter from the ocean. I would suggest it needs to be made clearer that people who have injuries, or are elderly or pregnant, would likely be best to avoid this trip as it takes place on a rib travelling up to 37 knots and is very bumpy at points!

The best experience ever. I have seen sperm whales and dolphines and learned a lot about this animals. A team of young professionals and a boat very confortable. Thank so much also for the pictures.

What a great trip! The guide and captain were very nice and told fun facts about the whales and dolphins we encountered. Along the way we fished waste out of the sea because it obviously doesn't belong here. Through a spotter on land we were able to spot a group of sperm whales and a group of spotted dolphins. highly recommended!

It was not cheap, but so worth it! We saw 4 different species and our guide Raquel was the best! We spent a little over 2 hours on the water and there were full respect for the animals, where the bot was just floating or not even going close to some dolphins that were feeding. And til full speed experience when we had to cross some water to get to a location with Sperm Whales. We really, really loved it!

Absolutely fantastic. Great boat which takes you right out from Calehta, we went about 10k out and first of all saw around 30 pilot whales, then we moved location and saw bottlenose dolphins hunting and finally we saw a fin whale. Very friendly and knowledgable guides. I would recommend H20 without hesitation. They send you fantastic photos after your trip too which is such a bonus.

We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 teens - 16 & 13) and we would definitely recommend H2OMaderia. We went out with them and saw sperm whales and bottlenose dolphins. The crew were really engaging and chatty. Sharing lots of local knowledge and making every effort to make sure we saw lots even making a detour back out to sea when we were supposed to be heading back to shore because they had received a tip of another siting.

A magical experience for both the adults & both the children. We were hoping to swim with the dolphins but unfortunately we did not see the correct species as there are only 2 species you are able to swim with due to animal safety. We actually took 2 trips, on 22nd & 26th, we were lucky enough the first time to see, bottlenose, spotted & pilot whales The first time the bottlenose dolphins & spotted were very playful & came very close to the boat for about 15 minutes, the pilot whales were enjoyed from a little further away although 2 did swim under the boat. The second trip we only saw pilot whales but we were able to enjoy them for at least 20 minutes. I would not hesitate to book again

The boat trip itself was very nice already. We also managed to get a good view of bottle-nose dolphins and pilot whales (which are dolphins). Great experience!

Great service. Guide is very kind and knows a lot about dolphins and wales. No problems with reservations etc. I highly recommend this company for everyone! They send photos from the trip to every participant by email after a few days. Amazing experience :)

H2O Madeira are the best on the island for whale and dolphin watching. We have been three times now - the first time we didn’t see any wildlife and we got our money back no quibbles. It was still a lovely time out at sea with spectacular views of the island. The second time was phenomenal with a huge pod of spotted dolphins - they swam with the boat and were leaping and jumping out within metres. The most recent time we saw striped dolphins, pilot whales, bottle nose dolphins and a loggerhead turtle! Another fantastic trip. Calheta harbour provides a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants to eat and drink after the trip. We will definitely be booking a trip with H2O on our next Madeira holiday in a few months time.
