We had a great time and saw so many bottlenose dolphins! They came so close to the boat and the crew were very respectful of the wildlife. They even took pictures and sent them to us after the trip. There were some drinks on board and the view from the boat was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Despite the fact I got sick on the boat, the experience was amazing ! We saw dolphins, whales, a flighing fish and petrels. The guide on board gave us a lot of explanation of what was to be seen and the captain did a great job guiding us to the right spots, with the help of the spotter on land. I advise On Tales when in Madeira!

We had an enjoyable boat trip with On Tales. Within a short time of getting on the water, we met a large group of Atlantic common dolphins. They were quite curious and came really close to the boat. One dolphin even did a few “tricks” for us jumping out of the water! We also saw sea-birds called Cory's Shearwaters, which often feed near the dolphins. We took lots of pictures out on the water as well as a few of the shoreline- especially of Cascatas dos Anjos (the Angel's Waterfall), which we had explored on land a few day prior. We did a bit of snorkeling as well, which was quite refreshing. On Tales provided towels and top-notch snorkel gear. The captain and crew member were excellent, and highly professional, and we had a very memorable time. The only downside is that the boat is a bit small for 6 guests and 2 crew members. Seating might not have felt so tight if it wasn’t so sunny with all of us trying to get shade under the bimini. On a less sunny day, more people could sit at the front of the boat without worrying about sunburn or overheating. Just something to keep in mind.

We had a great boat trip on a beautiful May day. After seeing Dolphins, a flying fish and a sperm whale we stopped for a bit of swimming and snorkeling before returning to harbor. The crew (João-Pedro and André) made some beautiful photos for us and had everything we needed on the boat. Thank you for an amazing morning aboard the Miranda! We do understand why they're N°1 Amazing experience, everything is very well organized, you only have to show up they take care of all you could think about. They even take professional pictures and share them with you within few hours. We would highly recommend and do it again when back in Madeira ! Skeepers are locals, they speaks many languages and know their surroundings very well 👌🏻 Making a stop and swim/snorkle is free 😉

This experience was really great! The crew was very nice and explaining us about the birds and dolphin! It was really magical to see the dolphins swimming around the boat! Also very good to see that they care about the animals and the planet, we even picked up plastic out of the ocean on our way back to the port!

Great birthday trip with the skipper & his mate. They let me & my partner sit up front on the bow of the boat. Perfect location for watching common dolphins and shearwaters. Had a lovely swim at the end of the boat ride.

We walked in hoping to get a shared tour, even though online it showed none were available. Mayung gathered our info and got us scheduled along with two other couples on short notice. The small shared tour of 6 +2 crew was an incredible experience. The staff were all very friendly and engaged with us throughout. While searching the waters for signs of the big animals, the skipper informed us about the island, the villages on the south shores, the birds and fish in the region. We swam in the crystal clear waters and enjoyed some beverages. They took fantastic photos of the day so we could enjoy our tour and didn’t have to spend all our time behind the lens. Although we did not see any whales, we did see a family of bottle-nosed dolphins, flying fish and even a young hammerhead shark. Thank you On Tales team!

It has been a remarkable experience. We felt very comfortable on the boat and had a positive expierence of customer service and hospitality. The highlight was a swim in the ocean, encouraged through the crew on board - thanks!

Very nice and welcoming team. They did their best to let us see dolphins and it was great to have a French person on board to explain us and especially our kids what we were seeing. Dolphins were not so many and were very shy but we've finally seen them ! The team paid attention to our confort (not so hot today!) and wish to swim or not, and also not to stress too much dolphins. Thank you all the team for this trip, the nice photos, our captain and Martin ! But also Rosa and Mayung for the excellent communication and organization to have a French speaker for us.

Organising with the friendly ladies at the office in Calheta was an easy and friendly experience, we booked a few days in advance and they were always happy to say hello as we walked past the office every day. We took to the water with an experienced and friendly crew who explained what they doing, how the spotters worked and what we could expect. We were underway for an hour or so to a lovely spot underneath a waterfall where members of the same party swam for a while and enjoyed the clear cool waters. After the swim we meandered along the coast and took in the delightfully pretty town of ponta do sol, we then headed back in earnest catching a pod of dolphins at their favourite spot near a fishing farm outside Calheta, we circled the dolphins as they circled us for the allowed time, 10 minutes or so so as not to stress the animals out! The skipper was friendly and communicative and we really did have an excellent time, we enjoyed sitting on the front deck of the boat, giving a great opportunity to see everything! Thanks so much, I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madeira!

Can’t fault this trip. Staff were all absolutely amazing, couldn’t do enough for you and offered some excellent knowledge. Boat was perfect, weather was blue sky and we got to see a school of pilot whales. 🐳. Worth the 💴

Dear team, A few days have now passed since our adventure in Madeira. One thing is clear: this whale-watching tour was an absolute highlight. We are full of gratitude and still overwhelmed by what we were able to see on the water, what a great service we were offered and what a unique adventure we were able to experience and the memories that will last a lifetime. Starting with a super warm welcome from the team, the fantastic organization and consultation between colleagues and the super friendly and open manner towards us right up to the last second. We were particularly pleased with the great photos that were taken for us and which were sent to us in excellent quality within a very short time. We would not want to do without the photos of the sunset, the dolphins, whales and individual photos, because they are a very special memory for life. It is an adventure that is really worthwhile! Great experience, highly recommend! Crew was very personable and friendly. They tried their hardest to get us to see the marine life and we got to see a pod of dolphins and some Blainsville whales. Overall we had an amazing time!

Very nice boat trip we had. Super friendly people, both the captain and the people at the office and the photo dig. They are also respectful of the dolphins, not to put them on their heels. Super job, keep up the good work.

This was a magical experience. We were worried that we wouldn't see any dolphins as it was quite a while before they showed up - then we saw loads! They were all around and we got some great views. We didn't see any whales, but we did see a flying fish. The boat is small and they only take a few people at a time, so you get a personalised experience. The photographer takes plenty of pictures which they send to you afterwards, so you can enjoy the moment. We were lucky enough to get a lovely sunset too.

We had an amazing experience with the On Tales tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very successful trip seeing both whales and dolphins, partly thanks to their spotter on the cliff tops. The boat crew gave us lots of information about the wildlife and the island and kept us up to date with what was happening. They took many photos on the trip of us and the wildlife and sent them to us afterwards very quickly. We also got a detailed report via email about the trip and what we'd seen. We'd certainly recommend, thank you to Emmanuel and the crew!

This was a great experience from a first class business. I heard about the experience from the friendly staff outside their store on the Marina. There was no “hard sell”, no pressure, just a friendly explanation of what was on offer. The boat trip itself was fantastic, we saw dolphins and of course the beautiful and dramatic coastline of Madeira from a different perspective! The photos sent through afterwards was a nice touch, as was the personalised nature of the emails and photos. There were lots of nice touches from start to finish that makes this business stand out as truly exceptional. All the staff are brilliant and I thank them for helping make my trip to Madeira so special.

Fantastic trip, would highly recommend. Mayung and the team looked after us really well and we’re so knowledgable, and also very funny! We weren’t lucky enough to see any whales but the were lots of dolphins, plus lots of info on parts of the coast you might not otherwise see.

We had a great tour on Miranda yesterday lunchtime. The organisation was excellent and everyone was very helpful and welcoming - both in the office and on board. Miranda was really comfortable too. We have been on other tours elsewhere and seen nothing, so we were really delighted to spend 10 minutes with a pod of pilot whales and then later on to see a pod of dolphins taking a look at the fish farm. The crew on board were very knowledgeable and able to tell us lots about these animals. Thank you so much for the experience - it was great.
