Everything was wonderful! The park is well maintained, staff is professional and knowledgeable. The bird sanctuary was a personal favorite. The underground river was so much fun. I’m not a swimmer. With a life vest and lifeguard in the water I felt safe. He even helped me a little and gave me some tips to stay a float. The show at the end of the night is a full blown theater production. It summarizes Mexico’s rich history from pre colonial times to present in such a beautiful artistic way. I didn’t want the day to be over. Highly recommend to all! This park is highly over priced! This park is highly over priced! We payed over $500 for 5 people. All we were able to do was 2 of the attractions. Everything else was between $50-$75 more per person to do anything. This place is more expensive than Disneyland and at least we get to go on every ride there. We did upgrade the show, to include dinner, which was an additional $500! The dinner was nothing but disgusting. And the show was not worth waiting for. It was so hot in the arena you couldn’t enjoy the show. All in all dont’t waste your money here! Wasn’t worth it at all!Go early. Snorkeling through the caves, lots of wildlife. The show at night is amazing. Lots of walking. This is the best tour in Mexico.

Bad out the way; You generally fall into one of two categories and therefore two very different ways of rating this place. Either you think zoo's and places like SeaWorld, exploit animals for business profits, OR you think zoo's in some way, help declining populations of endangered animals and contribute in a positive way overall to our wildlife. Having visited here, I'm sort of torn. One of the first things you see is a large branch with about 5 parrots stood on. All clearly have clipped wings with nowhere to go all day. There is a camera system all over the park with wristband activation that charges a small fortune if you wish to purchase any 'packages' so my first inmeidate thought is this is a place that values profits over animal welfare. This sad feeling is continued when you visit the dolphins in their tiny pens, being forced to drag customers along (again, at additional cost) it was just sad watching them pace up and sown this small enclosure. There is a beautiful eagle sat on a branch in a cage barely big enough to take flight in, a leopard that we watched for 5 minutes pacing his pen, backwards and forwards in a mindless, sub conscious trance (you should know what it means when animals pace up and down like this) and generally animals just looking very sad. The good; The underground river is a really cool and unique experience although first thing in the day everyone goes here so it can be painfully busy. Typical americans barging their way past you like you aren't there, as you are trying to enjoy the gentle floating. The evening show. This was nothing short of beautiful and spectacular and worth the entry fee (just about) on its own. The work required for this show is nothing short of exceptional and you can sense the Mexican people are very proud of their culture. Get there an hour before it start and you'll get a decent seat. In this hour there is something going on anyway. The buffet (we paid for Plus Pakcage) at the Mexican restaurant was delicious. Much the same as our hotel. Very fresh, very tasty. You'd like to think they would get this part right lol. Not the same standard that you would get in a uk park like this which would probably be Pizza and chips. Overall, I'd say worth visiting. Maybe better with children but i couldn't help leaving with a sour taste in my mouth at visualizing the poor dolphins in there small pens.We went to Xcaret as part of our all inclusive stay at Xcaret Arte Hotel. We went to Xcaret as part of our all inclusive stay at Xcaret Arte Hotel. We had a great time. The park is beautiful. What we did: -Swam one of the underground Rivers, the Mayan River. It was beautiful. -Walked around the whole park, everything is lovely. -Bead art. This was actually my favorite part. I cannot remember the gentleman's name, but the man who does the artwork with the tiny beads was amazing. It was so nice and relaxing after walking around all day to stop and work on a craft. The man was very kind and informative, and I loved the experience. I would have liked to have gone back with more time to try out the different craft areas. -Ate lunch at La Cocina. It is a Mexican Buffet. The food was really good. I eat vegan food and found enough items on the buffet that were suitable for me to eat. -Went to the night show. I normally don't like that sort of thing, but it was fantastic. -We purchased the picture package as there were lots of nice photo opportunities around the park. There are a few issues though--in the river some of our photos are of nothing or of other people because the place where you scan your bracelet was not close to where you needed to be to be in the frame of the photo. Also, in some of the spots, there is a walkway between the camera and the photo spot, so people walked in front of us, and ruined some of the photos. There are two reasons I cannot give Xcaret 5 stars. -Dolphins. Keeping dolphins for people to swim with is known to be cruel, and has been for a long time. It is a practice that needs to end. I know Xcaret comments on every review that says this about how they exceed standards, etc. That doesn't change the fact that the dolphins are kept in small area and forced to entertain humans all day. This is not the life for a creature meant to swim 40 miles a day. I encourage anyone thinking about doing this to research why this is a bad practice before purchasing this activity. -Miscommunication. This was a problem at our hotel, but since it is owned by Xcaret I am putting it here. According to our hotel, the evening show started at 7:00. We went back to the park at 6:30 planning to go to the show at 7:00, then eat dinner back at the hotel after. We discovered that the show had changed to summer hours, and there was one at 5:30 and one at 7:45. The park's app said the show was at 7:30. The website said 7:00. So neither the hotel nor the park's app nor the park's website had the correct information about the time of the show, which was frustrating.Highly recommend visiting this wonderful Eco Park. Beautiful, clean grounds, helpful staff. Lazy rivers were definitely a highlight as was the show in the main auditorium at the end of the day. All around spectacular way to spend a day!
