We had two awesome days in Quito, Ecuador with Angela and Jamie. First, they arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport and transfer us to our hotel. The next day, they took us on a walking tour of the old town of Quito. They took us to a small local restaurant for lunch where the chef specializes in making empanadas. It was our best meal there! They also reccomended other local restaurants to eat in. Angela is Peruvian and Jamie is from Canada, but both are extremely knowledgeable about Ecuador, and love to show off their country, history and culture. They were very fun to spend the day with. Prompt and friendly!Great tour for 2 days with a very friendly and knowledgeable couple. Learned a lot about Quito. Something we would not have discovered on our own. See my other posting with pictures.

When my granddaughter decided to embark on a Cross-Cultural trip to Quito with her college, she asked if she could go earlier so that she could see more of Ecuador. Her Mom and Dad (my son) and brother and sister all wanted to go too and I joined in. It was my great fortune that I found Jamie and Angela and letsgotoecuador.com. From my first email, inquiring about every facet of traveling in Ecuador that could be imagined, Jamie and Angela answered the question, offered advice and made flawless arrangements. We only had two days in Quito but we truly experienced the full flavors of Ecuador's diversity. Our first day took us on the "Quito Panoramic" Tour, and Angela shared her knowledge of her native city with us as we journeyed throughout the city. Day two took us on the Tour to Otavalo, Cotacachi and surrounding area and now we were able to appreciate the beautiful countryside. Although our time with Jamie and Angela ended when we continued on to Banos, Cuenca and Guayaquil, we remained in contact and knew we had new friends in Quito in the event we needed assistance. My family had an experience of a lifetime and every single one of us wouldn't hesitate to return to Ecuador. But none of us would go without letstotoecuador.com and Jamie and Angela.Highly recommend.. after confirming our booking by email, Jamie and Angela picked us up from our hotel as promised. Highly recommend.. after confirming our booking by email, Jamie and Angela picked us up from our hotel as promised. They took us on a wonderful tour of Quito filling us with local knowledge and history of the city and it’s people. We spent as much time as we wanted wondering around the old town area taking about its history then went for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we went to the middle of the world to further explore the history of Ecuador’s indigenous people and its past.Sometimes you just score a jackpot when you choose blindly off the internet. Sometimes you just score a jackpot when you choose blindly off the internet. This was our biggest score we have ever had, finding Angela and Jamie by chance, and we travel a lot. Angela and Jamie were so kind and so knowledgeable as well as great hosts and flexible with our needs (we got in late the night before and needed to shift things a bit, and they were so kind about everything!). We did the Middle of the World / Quito tour one day with them, and we did the Mindo / zip lining the second day. They knew all the ins/outs, how to bypass crowds, were kind enough to take our youngest on a hike when she chickened out of zip lining at the last minute. They even recommended a local cure (dragon's blood from a local tree) for a really bad yellow jacket sting I got... and it worked wonders! I am looking forward to visiting with our new found friends (they are more like FRIENDS than guides) next time we visit Quito, and they were so wonderful, I plan to have my parents go visit on their own since I know Angela and Jamie will take the best care of them, like their own family. We are vegetarian, and the food we had was some of the best we've enjoyed on vacation with them. They really know how to make you feel like a million bucks the way they treat you so well and with so much love and care! I cannot sing their praises loudly enough! Will be using them again and again.
