Dream of Africa and chances are that you dream of the Masai Mara. But for once the reality lives up to the image and the Masai Mara, which comprises not just the famous reserve but also around a dozen community conservancies, several group ranches and numerous Maasai villages, is for many people not just the highlight of their Kenyan adventure but the very reason they came in the first place.

This is the second time with Morindat travels,( been on safaris with many others besides Morindat in 2017) . These guys at Morindat never fails to impress me with their deep understanding of the game and the topography of game locations . A special word about the safari guide Gideon who is a Masai and his team of guides Sammy and Francis. It was a treat travelling with them . We learnt a lot from their huge wealth of knowledge and there was never a dull moment even with this second safari with Morindat Morindat was always ready to give the best advice with recommending the safari dates, best camps to suit our budget and in providing the best safari guides to our other group's safari vehicles ( we were a group of 15 in 3 vehicles) I will go with them for on the next trip whenever that happensMorindat Tours’ hospitality started right at the Airport when we landed in Nairobi airport. Morindat Tours’ hospitality started right at the Airport when we landed in Nairobi airport. They were so helpful that we managed to pick up local SIM cards while we waited for our group to finish their CIQ. We then proceeded to a city hotel which was changed up at the last minute & it was not regretful at all. Usually last minute changes aren’t welcomed by any traveller, but this was a brilliant change with a beautiful one at bar at the rooftop. The second day started with our travel to the Masai Mara Reserve. The 3 drivers headed by Gideon (co-owner) of Morindat made our journey smooth & comforting. The 5-6 hours journey was made easy (I suffer from motion sickness) & I was alright. The game drives were excellent & the drivers Sammy & Francis were fabulous. Francis was our LC’s driver & he was an encyclopaedia of animals & plants. He would dish out Botanical & Zoological names of Plants, Trees & animals we saw. I must admit I can’t remember even one. Early morning sunrise & late evening sunsets in the grasslands is a sight to cherish for the rest of one’s lives. Francis even accorded our LC’s passengers as one of the best passengers he’s taken. We would like to think that we were good spotters too. We managed to out spot, our fellow travellers with lions and cheetahs. After 4 nights in the Mara Reserve we headed to Lake Naivasha. One night there & back to Nairobi Airport. Our week long trip was over before we even realised. I don’t think anyone else is equipped to handle the difficult needs of all travellers. 3 cheers to the Morindat Team… Asante SanaOur experience with Morindat has been exemplary from start to finish. Our experience with Morindat has been exemplary from start to finish. Morindat has been set up recently by two experienced guides, Gideon & Titus. We first connected with them early 2020 planning a trip in July of that year. But we had to postpone our trip to 2022 due to the pandemic (first we booked for 2020 and then we had to push to 2021 and, finally 2022!). So we had been conversing with both of them for well over two years. They navigated our postponements and reservation changes smoothly with patience! Very professional, quick to respond to any mode of communication, whether email or whatsapp or calls! And finally, our trip happened in Aug 2022! We were a group of 15 from Chennai, India and we took three jeeps on a seven day vacation. One of us was on a wheelchair with a fracture on her leg that happened just 3.5 weeks prior to our trip. It was a wonderful, exciting and once-in-a-lifetime trip. Our three guides were Gideon himself along with Francis & Sammy. They were excellent! Warm, friendly, flexible, attentive and oh, so good at leading us to the right spotting of wild animals! We couldn't see the famed crossing or crocs, but we saw almost everything else including the very rare sights of mating lions and a cheetah trying to climb a tree! Brilliant! I was in Francis'Jeep and I can tell you he is one of the best! If I go again, I will go with him! He has a little resemblance to the Dembe character in the James Spader TV series, Blacklist! 😊 Our wheelchair bound traveler had a whale of a time, with Sammy taking very good care of her on the travel and the safaris! Titus and Gideon had helped us choose and reserve excellent hotels for us at Mara (we stayed first in a boutique resort, Mara Crossing and then at the larger Fairmont) and finally at Naivasha (Sawela). Mara Crossing was right in the jungle, by the Mara river, a fantastic resort! And Fairmont was on the banks of Mara too. Titus generally takes care of the hotel reservations and the commercials. He is very, very dependable. You don't have to remind him about anything! Morindat's pricing is decent. They are really good and it will be smart to make your entire trip reservations with them, thereby eliminating any agent fees. You just need to make your own air travel and visa arrangements. Thank you, Gideon & Titus. Thank you, Francis & Sammy!Early morning safaris. Saw all the big five except for the rhino and a host of other birds and animals. Mara Crossing camp was a wonderful experience. Excellent guides .all in all a great experience

CUSTOMER DELIGHT Maasai Mara… It’s a photographer’s paradise and it will be in the bucket list of any wildlife photographer and am not an exception. Having said that, remember, Maasai mara is 1510 square km which is 583 square miles. It is larger than Bengaluru and Chennai put together in size. In this vast area, without a proper guide, it is not easy to sight animals. Our group admin Dorai rightly identified a new start-up morindat and our group leader Anand sealed the deal. Morindat is founded by Gideon and Titus, a first generation entrepreneurs who had vast experience in African safari tourism. This start-up is not a tech start-up. They are not bothered about valuation, fund rise, exit, unicorn status etc… Instead this start-up is just focussing only on CUSTOMER DELIGHT. At every moment, they delighted the customer consistently. We booked the safari in the year 2020. It got postponed twice due to obvious reason. They were accommodative and did not fleece us with huge changeover charges etc. Instead, they accommodated our request every time and very supportive of us and ensured that we did not lose our peak season dates. We, as their customers were DELIGHTED Just 3 weeks before the D date, my wife broke her leg and the Dr was not at all convinced about us going to Mara. Our group leader requested Morindat about a possibility of wheelchair assistance. We could not imagine a whole vacation on a wheelchair that too inside a forest with a very difficult terrain. Had we gone with any big tour operator, they would have said NO to that request coz, no one could commit a wheelchair assistance for the entire 7 days of tour and take a huge responsibility on the customer’s health. Morindat used their differentiated approach compared to their competitors. They said YES to the wheelchair assistance and executed the same from the time we landed in Nairobi till we boarded our Chennai flight. This is possible only in an owner driven company since the decision making was quick and execution was in their hands. It also gave them a hands-on experience on how to handle a difficult situation and they can repeat it in case if they encounter a similar situation in future. We were DELIGHTED again. They chose hotels with wheelchair access and also ensured good veg food spread. They were on the spot, ON TIME always, and never a second was delayed. All three guide/driver knew the terrain so well without a google map and also highly knowledgeable about birds, animal behavior etc. Several times, they took us off-road to sight animals and again DELIGHTED us in each safari. We never returned from any safari disappointed. Most of the members in our group did not carry large telephoto lenses. Seeing that, Morindat, guides took the vehicle closer to the animals to DELIGHT our folks to click the pic of animals using their mobile phone or normal zoom lens cameras. We were lucky to spot mating of lions, Cheetah’s unusual behavior of climbing a tree and a minor chase by a bull elephant apart from sighting all big five and other animals and a plenty of birds. I am sure Morindat will emerge as a very successful start-up with their differentiated approach and CUSTOMER DELIGHT as their MANTRA. Some pic clicked by self at Mara
