Run by Baunti Escapes. A journey back in time. Climb around the tour bus in Burnt Pine settlement and travel down to Kingston where you will here the stories of arrival of the Pitcairn people on Norfolk Island in 1856 - their experiences, what happened when the arrived and the first few years of their lives in a new home. Norfolk Island is full of history and this gives an excellent insight in the beginnings of the current settlement - not to be missed if you are a history buff or what to understand the place of Norfolk Island in today's world and the shaping of the culture of Norfolk Island. Well worth the hour. This was a wonderful experience. Very fitting to the rather mournful theme which allowed reflection of how the Pitcairners lived and the difficulties they faced.

The entire tour is conducted at night via one of the Baunti buses, with the subjects being lit up from floodlights on the bus. Many, many totally unknown facts about the early island (unknown to me anyway) are related on the tour, including the fact that some of the houses on Quality Row were burnt down in a protest against the NSW government in the early 1900's. This is a new, but well presented, most worthwhile tour. Lots to be learned from it.
