Chengdu 26-28 Mar 2019 Jason was an amazing tour guide. After the original tour was done he helped me schedule Face Mask Changing show and organize photos in traditional Chinese outfit. He helped me figure out the subway system next to hotel, to get to the show location. So I can find my way home at the end of the show. When he showed me where the show was there was a deal for dinner for people that have tickets to the Face Mask Changing show. However, it was in a different location from the main entrance of the show. Jason showed me where to go for the dinner special that was on the back side of the opera house. I definitely would have been horribly lost without his help. I also wanted to dress in traditional Chinese outfits. He help organize with the photographer’s for me to get pictures taken after the Face Changing Show because I didn’t have time before the show started to get them done and he helped with a reservation time and type of wardrobe I wanted. It was hard finding someone that spoke English around the area. It was a perfect jammed packed day. Seeing Giant Panda’s, Leshan Giant Buddha, Face Changing Show, Traditional Chinese photography. During the panda visit I couldn’t get enough of them. We walked around twice because I just loved seeing them in person. During feeding time a red panda passed right in front me to get to feeding area. I would recommend going towards the red pandas for feeding time, because now you can’t get close to the giant panda due to unknown illnesses visitors are bringing that kill the giant pandas. The red panda was the closest I got to, but just in distance we should not be touching any of the animals. Thank you so much Jason for all your extra time it was so much fun. I really appreciate you showing me around personally, on your off time so I wouldn’t get lost. I would definitely recommend the Face Changing Show after original tour. They give free tea and appetizer. I had steamed dumplings. It was delicious. We did a two day three night private tour in Chengdu including the Giant Pandas and the Giant Buddha. We did a two day three night private tour in Chengdu including the Giant Pandas and the Giant Buddha. First I want to start with our wonderful guide Cassie. She was enthusiastic and efficient all the time we were with her. Cassie was informative about the locations and history of each location we visited and ensured we received excellent service. As well, to ensure we could reach her at any time she helped set up our WeChat so we could keep in touch effortlessly. The first full day was volunteering at the Research Centre for the Giant Pandas. This without a doubt is one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were excellent and the program well organized. Of course it helps that the Pandas have to be the cutest creatures on earth. We helped clean cages and prepare food, as well we were able to feed the pandas a couple of times. We were given ample time to walk around the park and watch and photograph the pandas at leisure. The second day was to Leshan and the Giant Buddha. It is a long drive (2.5 hours each way) but the Buddha is very impressive when viewed from the boat on the river. As well the complex when you walk through is organized and flowed well. The restaurant which Cassie took us to in Leshan was excellent. The tour was well organised and we saw, amongst other attractions, the Pandas at Chengdu and the the Giant Buddha at Leshan. The tour was well organised and we saw, amongst other attractions, the Pandas at Chengdu and the the Giant Buddha at Leshan. Both attractions were amazing and ones we had longed to see. Our guide Tony was excellent - extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. If you are visiting Chengdu then Tony is the guide we would highly recommend and the guide you should ask for. This tour was part of a 12 day tour arranged with TravelChinaGuide. The arrangements made by TravelChinaGuide were faultless and we can't recommend them highly enough. We shall certainly use them again - thank you Tony and TravelChinaGuide for providing such a wonderful experience. We recently were guided on a two-day tour of Chengdu and Sichuan by Eva from Travel China Guide. We recently were guided on a two-day tour of Chengdu and Sichuan by Eva from Travel China Guide. Her expertise and concern for our interests and needs was exceptional. She has a excellent knowledge of the ancient history of the Chengdu area. I was truly impressed by the rich history of Sichuan that I learned on our visit. As westerners, we know more about the history of Beijing and Shanghai, but Chengdu has just as much history and one that extends perhaps further back to earlier dynasties before written history. Eva's knowledge of the pre-written history of the Jinsha archeological site was extensive and opened my mind to a another facet of Chinese history. Another activity that is not to be missed in Chengdu is the Sichuan opera. Much livelier than its counterpart in Beijing, the acts included music, action, and comedy. Another excellent suggestion from Eva! As much as we enjoyed seeing the sights of Chengdu and Sichuan with Eva, the lunches at restaurants she suggested were the best food we have had so far in China. Eva was a great help to us in ensuring food was compatible with our allergies and even found Sichuan food that was not too spicy but still delicious. Not an easy task in a place like Sichuan that is known around the world for its spicy food! Private tours via Travel China Guide really integrate the best aspects of group tours and independent sightseeing. Like a group tour, they arrange entrance fees which saves an immense amount of time as a tourist unfamiliar with the process at crowded tourist sites. But, the nature of the private tour allows the guide to provide a lot of insight about what you are seeing and to tailor activities to your preferences. We had a great visit to Chengdu. As Eva mentioned, Chengdu is a place that even the Chinese like to visit to relax. The pace of life is slower than in Beijing or Shanghai and Chengdu has an excellent array of teahouses and restaurants. We will be back for sure! Eva, thank you for helping us explore the culture of Sichuan and Chengdu! Our guide, Sugar, and the driver met us at the train station and helped us with our bags to the car. Our guide, Sugar, and the driver met us at the train station and helped us with our bags to the car. She was kind enough to give us a history lesson on Chengdu during the ride to the hotel. She assured that our checkin at the Hampton Inn downtown went smoothly. We were pleased with the quality of the hotel and the room. The following morning, Sugar picked us up early to go to the Chengdu giant panda rescue and research center. Despite the significant size crowds, Sugar managed to get us from place to place for some great views and photos of the Giant Pandas. After leaving the pandas, she took us to a fantastic authentic local restaurant where she helped us order the best local cuisine. The lunch was truly fantastic and we even got to see a mask changing show at the restaurant! After we went to the Jinsha Site museum where she explained the site discovery and history. Lastly we went to Kuan Alley and walked and shopped. It was a really cool neighborhood. Sugar then gave us some great dinner recommendations for local Sichuan Hot Pot (including directions from the hotel)! We had the next morning to ourselves where we shopped at nearby stores. Sugar picked us up promptly and took us to the train station. She took us through security and to our gate to assure safe travels on our next leg. Sugar’s English was excellent and her bubbly personality made our time in Chengdu so fun! She is a great ambassador for Chengdu and we once again felt like we made a new friend!!We have loved put trip here in the gorgeous Sichuan province.
