This two day tour provides a comprehensive look at what makes Yellowstone so unique, how it's ecosystem is unlike any other in the world, and how this natural marvel was formed through millennia of volcanism, glaciation, and tectonic activity. We'll also explore the human history of the park, including it's founding and the history indigenous Americans in the Yellowstone area.

Itinerary
Day 1: Lower Loop
Stop At: Firehole Canyon Drive, Yellowstone National Park, WY
Firehole Canyon is an incredible drive through a canyon carved out of volcanic rock by the Firehole River. We'll talk about the history of volcanism in Yellowstone and the formation of this awe inspiring gem of Yellowstone.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Firehole Lake Drive, Grand Loop Road, Yellowstone National Park, WY
Firehole Lake Drive is an excellent place to see an incredible variety of hydrothermal features, including hot springs and geysers.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Grand Prismatic Spring, Midway Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, WY
The Grand Prismatic is the largest hot spring in Yellowstone and a must see for any trip into the park.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Old Faithful, Center Loop Road, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190
The most famous geyser in Yellowstone, Old Faithful is well known for it's consistently timed eruptions. We'll spend a good amount of time here in the Upper Geyser Basin, home to a wide variety of other hot springs and geysers.

Stop At: West Thumb Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone National Park, WY
West Thumb is a hydrothermally active bay carved into Yellowstone Lake by a volcanic eruption roughly 150, 000 years ago. Here you can find hot springs pouring into the lake and even find underwater hydrothermal features.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Hayden Valley, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190
The Yellowstone River cuts through Hayden Valley and serves as an artery for the area's incredible concentration and diversity of wildlife. Bison, elk, bears, eagles, otters, and so much more can be found in this incredible valley. We'll spend plenty of time here searching for wildlife with our binoculars and spotting scope.

Stop At: Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190
An absolutely mesmerizing and iconic sight, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is over 20 miles long and over a thousand feet deep. The canyon is the last major stop of the day for this tour, but we'll make sure to take our time on the way home, keeping an eye out for wildlife and stopping at several smaller attractions along the way.

Day 2: Upper Loop
Stop At: Norris Geyser Basin, Grand Loop Road at Norris, Yellowstone National Park, WY
Norris Geyser Basin is the most active hydrothermal area in Yellowstone and home to the tallest geyser in the world: Steamboat Geyser.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Mammoth Hot Springs, Grand Loop Road, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190
Mammoth Hot Springs' iconic terraces, formed by deposits from the area's many springs, are a truly wonderful sight to behold and a great place to take scenic photographs.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Petrified Tree, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190
Here we'll see an over 50 million year old and remarkably intact petrified giant sequoia.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Tower Fall, Yellowstone National Park, WY
Tower Falls is an incredibly photogenic waterfall and is situated in an area very suitable for wildlife watching.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park, WY
Lamar Valley is the crown jewel of Yellowstone's ecosystem. The valley is world famous for its incredible concentration of bison and elk, and especially its population of wolves.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190
We'll get a new perspective on the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone on our second day as we once again end the trip on this spectacular high note.

We had a great time with Elijah our guide. Very knowledgeable and flexible. Very lucky seeing wildlife.. it’s a great way to see the park before you head out exploring on your own.
