We had a lovely time out on the boat with Joe. Driven about 15 minutes outside town in their van and then the boat ride was about 1.5 hours. Really beautiful scenery, and we had tea while cruising which was lovely. The boat has indoor seating and outdoor spaces which is nice since the weather changes by the minute, also a bathroom on board. We were lucky it was just us and another couple but the boat is quite spacious. Highly recommend!Spectacular scenery to be had on this leisure cruise. Spectacular scenery to be had on this leisure cruise. Myself and a fellow passenger booked this tour with the additional walk while on a group tour. It turned out we were the only two going and had the boat to ourselves and it felt like a private tour. I highly recommend doing the additional walk. It's, a small addition in cost but it's just magical. When the lake is still, it's like a mirror reflecting the mountains and forest. The photos I took are spectacular and some actually look fake but they are real!! There's a stairway on the front of the boat that you can walk out on to take photos of the views without obstruction. Rosie our guide was just lovely and she took us out on the lake and told us about the points where she stopped and pointed out birds on the way. The boat is parked up on a small peninsula where you go for the walk. You don't need to be a hiker to do the walk but you do need to be able bodied. They offer walking poles if anyone wants to take one. We did and they were handy. The walk is on a woodland path through what can only be described as an enchanted forest walk. It feels like you could see a mythical creature through the trees at any moment. It's just a wonderful walk, you'll get to hear and see some native birds. The woodland path has almost become part of the forest floor again over the years which gives a great illusion that you're wandering through and there's some steps that are patches of earth between tree roots, rocks, logs or man made with wooden offcuts from trees. You'll need to have some solid footwear like good trainers or walking boots. The steps can vary in height and depth but mostly it's a forest path and there's some guide ropes in one or two places that you can hang on to. I got some incredible and spectacular scenic pictures and loved the forest walk. Highly recommend this company with their friendly staff and great trips.Apart from the subject material of the natural environment. Apart from the subject material of the natural environment. Dale our guide just brought the whole trip together with his knowledge and obvious feelings for his subject. The way he manages to make this feel like it is his first week on the job makes it a pleasure to listen to him. What I mean by that is he has done so many trips it would be easy to start to feel and sound "old hat to him" but you certainly don't get that impression. The tour was a relaxed and efficient. The views on the lake are beautiful and the information we were given was most interesting. The complimentary cup of tea was most appreciated. The boat is set up for about 12 people which makes it for an intimate, friendly tour.

This was a lovely quiet ride with some very interesting and friendly people---4 families in total. The guide/owner was passionately informative and made the trip very pleasant. We really only wanted the boat ride, but since we were last minute, the only trip available was boat and hike. The hike IS NOT for everybody. It was not for us for sure. Very strenuous. If you want this excursion, book early and just do the boat ride.Wonderful 2 hours spent on Lake Mapourika with the skilled Dale, exceptional views of the mountains reflected in the lake, wildlife spotting and Flax weaving by Dale.
