Overview

Are you a "road-less-travelled" kind of person? Would you like to experience a beautiful, quieter, less touristy part of Nova Scotia? Join us for a 2-hour Zodiac coastal tour through Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's Back Passage - a pristine part of the Atlantic Ocean.

We are the only operator in the area offering guided tours in professional, expedition Zodiacs. These popular, inflatable boats are identical to the ones you would find on expedition ships around the world. (We operate them as polar photographers and expedition guides in Canada’s sub-arctic and Antarctica!)

So what will we see? It is common to see numerous seals, osprey, great blue herons, mink, and deer (among other fauna) as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora, fauna and geology as we cruise Tanner’s Pass, Schooners Cove, Heckman’s Island and the Back Passage to Lunenburg. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia!

Please contact us if you have any questions at all!

What to expect

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: 29 Tanner Rd, Lunenburg, NS B0J 2C0, Canada

On the day of your tour, we are located a short, 10 minute drive from downtown Lunenburg. Once you arrive at the Lunenburg Retreat, we'll have you fitted for a PFD before loading up on the Zodiac.

Once we push back from the wharf, we'll have a quick safety briefing and then we'll press on to see what we can find during your 2-hour tour!

It is common to see Atlantic grey seals, osprey, great blue herons, mink, and deer as we explore Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's Back Passage. However, our true goal is to provide guests an opportunity to learn about flora, fauna and geology in a quieter, less touristy part of beautiful Nova Scotia.

We had a great zodiac tour with Jason. The bay was beautiful and we got to beach the boat and get out and explore in several places. Jason is a very experienced guide with extensive knowledge about the plants, animals and geology of the area. When we got back to the dock Jason’s father was waitin...

I have been on guided tours over land, at sea and in the air. This was one of the very best tours I have been on. It didn't feel like a tour, it felt like I was hanging out with my best bud while we toured around the bay in his boat. Then we hung out on the dock with drinks and Dad talked about s...

Wonderful experience in breathtaking scenery. Amazing to be out on the water seeing wildlife and rock formations. Jason and his family run a professional business while making you feel like family.

One of the best tours I have ever taken! Jason is an incredible guide, the scenery spectacular. I love how it is a bit out of the very touristy Lunenburg. Highly recommend!

Fabulous trip around the little islands and inlets of the south shore. We saw many seals and seabirds, and got to hop off the boat and explore a couple of the tiny islands, something you can't do from the larger vessels. We took an evening tour and it was just lovely to be out on the water in the...
