The Houseboat backwater programme has been designed for those who like to visit best canals in and around Aleppey. The main attraction of this trip is to have an experience of the best narrow canals, beautiful villages and village life of Aleppey.

This is one of the small private traditional boat used. Those who like the authentic traditional rice boat converted to a houseboat, this is the best example.

Another attraction is that we provide one hr open country boat to have an experience of very narrow canals where either the houseboat or shikkara boat used to make a trip.

Itinerary
Day 1: 2Hrs Private Aleppey Backwaters Houseboat Tour
Pass By: Alleppey Backwaters, Alappuzha India
Arrival at boarding point by 1150hrs. Meet, receive and check in Houseboat at 12pm. Boat cruise from 1200hrs till 1730hrs with an hour lunch break.
• Punnamada kayal – river famous for Nehru trophy boat race.
• SNDP canal – one of the small canal in this trip.
• Pamba river – almost 150ft width river.
• Irumbanam Thod – best narrow canal.
• Munnattumugam – Where three canals joints together making very attractive and beautiful place.
1330hrs Lunch at Meenappalli Kayal – small lake in the middle of Aleppey backwaters.
Post lunch trip start at 1430hrs and continue till 1730hrs. Trip through some of the beautiful villages called Kainakari Village Venattukadu etc.
1530hrs to 1630hrs - Open boat narrow canal cruise - one of the best experience.
At 1730hrs, houseboat finally halt for overnight stay. Once the houseboat halted, guest can walk around till the sun set.

A small place on the banks of vembanadu lake where you can see many local shops, fish selling ladies, toddy shop and ayurvedic massage centers.

Kuttamangalam canal is a very narrow canal and famous among tourists where many local villages, paddy fields etc are located. The canal is very narrow and one need a small open boat to see this. Since many villages and paddy fields located here, you can experience an unforgettable Aleppey village experience.

Day 2: Aleppey backwaters

Day 2 : Aleppey.
If the sky is clear, have a bed tea and you can enjoy a perfect sun rise from your houseboat. Since the houseboat is starting at 0800hrs, we recommend a light walk around the place if you are interested.
Today morning trip start at 0800hrs till your check out at 0900rs. During this one hr trip, it cover part of the biggest vembanadu lake. Before your houseboat trip ends at 9am they will provide authentic Kerala B/F. Check out from houseboat and Tour ends.

Boat trip was excellent. The tour operator was in close contact with us even prior our arrival to India in order to ask if we needed any support to get there. Once there, they took wonderful care of us. Foods were exceptional, and staff in the boat took always good care of us. We also had our privacy. After that, the tour operator managed transport to the airport. Only remark is that there is no wifi inside (as it was stated in the description), but staff provided for basic communication. My partner and I loved this cruise. We'd done a fair bit of research and settled on this boat as we're keen on a private cruise and a smaller boat and as budget/mid range traveller this was a really good price. The boat was exactly as described and spacious for two. The bedroom was decorated beautifully and the aircon powerful. The cruise itself was peaceful and even on the busy backwaters our captain managed to find quiet canals and at times it felt we were alone on the backwater with nature (I have never seen so many birds!). The crew were brilliant respectful of the environment and cooked us fantastic and varies vegetarian food. I would definitely recommend, especially for the price.hugoz966

We had booked the houseboat Palazhi from Sree sir, it was the fully air conditioned one, the boat was neat and clean and the staff was amazing they were polite and were doing the best to accommodate all the request my family had. They themselves suggested that if we wanted to purchase some sea food they were more than happy to cook it for us. Sree sir was always there well before the trip started, he kept on guiding us from the moment we left for kumarakom boat jetty, telling us of routes we should take and to avoid then periodically checking if everything was fine during our stay. Amazing boat, awesome staff, delicious food( must try the chicken fry, karimeen fry and gobi manchurian), perfect ingredients for a quiet and peaceful vacation.
