Our 11 day Tour was Beijing – Xi’an – Guilin – Shanghai. As Guides go, ‘Travel China Guide’ seems to have its service almost down to an art. We had about 5 nationalities in our small group of 18 and our guides made us all feel that each one of us had their undivided attention. These guides go the extra mile/s, playing the perfect hosts. Always keeping our safety, our concerns and our requests, up front and center. The Accommodation and Meals were best in class at all the hotels - though the breakfast at the Guilin Sheraton left a bit to be desired Our first guide 'Candy' in Beijing greeted us with such a big and huge smile, I almost felt I was returning home - this was my first visit to China - she was warm welcoming and assuring all the time. Much like a mother-hen with her chicks in tow!! She managed our tours with ease, experience and confidence, always giving us tidbits of information on most everything we experienced. Always answering questions and always finding the right answers. Our days were packed with trips and tours to all the interesting places in and around Beijing. We did not miss any highlights. Candy even made sure we all got through the departure gates when we left Beijing. Bless you Candy! For the second leg of our Journey we were met by Lily in Xi’an. Lily was a real help in so many ways. Again, Travel China Guide has picked genuine and hardworking individuals to represent the company and their values. Lily is very conversant with the City and can recommend options for dining for any palate and exquisiteness. The Sheraton we stayed at was in a great location, a bus ride to the downtown shopping and malls. Additionally there was a Trio of Musicians that kept the evening lively at the bar till somewhat late. We covered all the tours, including a visit to a local home and a great evening with the Tan Music and Dance Troupe. Leaving Xi’an was a bit sad as our group went on to different destinations. The third leg of our Journey found us in Guilin, known for its dramatic and most scenic landscape. Guilin is a clean and well-kept city. Its roads are washed all day, day-in-and-day –out. . We were met by our most energetic guide yet. The fit, fashionable and smart Monica or Ming Xiu. Ming Xiu covered all the popular destinations in Guilin and then some. Her knowledge of the geography, history and culture was bar-none. She gave us the best grasp of the 55 Ethnic Minorities in China. Thank you for that lesson Ming Xiu. In Guilin we were treated to one-of, if-not-the-best acrobatic show. It was simply breath taking. Our final destination was a whirlwind of a Tour of Shanghai, due to the limited time we had booked for our stay in China; if possible you should add a day or two more. Shanghai is a unique city in China, to complement this, Travel China Guide provided us a unique guide. Hyper energetic, well-traveled, well informed and fluent in English and a few other languages too – I guess. Ocean Blu our guide was simply the best choice one could hope for in Shanghai. He was everything you could want for in a guide and then some. The speed with which we comfortably covered Shanghai is a credit to Ocean Blu. He kept us going and kept the tour on time. I don’t know how and when he takes a break – but he well deserves one for his hyper involved tour guidance. I will certainly use Travel China Guide again and have recommended it to all my family and friends.Fue experiencia inolvidable. Guilin es un lugar magico. Our tour guide, Arthur, a native of Guilin, did an amazing job showing my wife and 2 teenage kids around Guilin. He taught us so much about the history of Guilin and the people’s old and new lifestyle/culture in that region. We now have a new appreciation for this beautiful region of China, so different from the other densely populated cities of China. Arthur picked us up from the train station and escorted us to all the popular touristy spots in Guilin. He was very good at dodging the summer crowds because he was so familiar with all the areas. He even showed us when and where was the best place to take family photos before the other professional photographers got there to claim the spots. Honestly, we would not have been able to visit Guilin, Red Flute Cave, Seven Star Park, Elephant Trunk Hill and cruise down the Li River in 1 ½ days without the help of Arthur. ( unfortunately we weren’t able to spend time in Yangshuo due to the rain ) . He then helped us get checked in at the Guilin airport, where nobody spoke English, which really helped us out. We highly recommend Arthur to anyone visiting Guilin. We did a 16-day private China Tour with Travel China Guide. We did a 16-day private China Tour with Travel China Guide. We were extremely pleased with all the arrangements made, including the guides in each city. As part of the tour, we spent two days in Guilin including the Li River Cruise with our travel guide Lee. We were very happy with Lee and enjoyed her company a lot. At the end of our tour, Lee was almost like a member of our family. Lee was very professional, efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. She was very helpful in advising us regarding our eating options as well as the right prices for the things that we bought. We would highly recommend Quiyan Li (Lee) to anyone planning on spending a few days in Guilin and the surrounding areas. My partner and I actually did a four day private tour of Guilin, Longji Rice Terraces, Li River cruise and Yangshuo through Travel China Guide. My partner and I actually did a four day private tour of Guilin, Longji Rice Terraces, Li River cruise and Yangshuo through Travel China Guide. I have been living in Shanghai China for seven years, but have not traveled to this area before. What a stark contrast to my life in the "big city". Amazingly beautiful and wondrous with a peek into the rich heritage of this country and its people. Sandy, our tour guide and his driver were a perfect accompaniment to this experience. Sandy, although not born of this region, had the spirit and passion as if he was. Charming, informative, talented (ask him to read or sing one of his poems), personable as well as a great traveling companion. I hope to return one day as it is a perfect place if you want to disconnect from the world. Especially if you go to Yangshuo and arrange to stay at one of the little B&B boutique hotels that have sprung up in some of the rural towns surrounding Yangshuo. The hotel that was arranged for us to stay in, Green Lotus Hotel, was serviceable but not the local experience you would have staying in a small local town surrounded by mountains with out the noise, neon and tour groups you have to contend with downtown. We visited GuiLing as part of our BeiJing/Xian/GuiLing/Shanghai/Yellow Mountain tour that was organized by China Travel Guide, and they did a great job. We visited GuiLing as part of our BeiJing/Xian/GuiLing/Shanghai/Yellow Mountain tour that was organized by China Travel Guide, and they did a great job. We were in Guilin for one afternoon and a full day on October 31 and Nov 1, 2018. Our guide was Helen, and she was a fantastic, attentive and professional guide with great English. We enjoyed the breathtaking scenery at the reed flute cave, the four hour long Li River cruise, the four Lakes Scenic Night cruise and elephant trunk while Helen was telling us interesting background stories and history & culture of GuiLing. However, there is one comments that I need to make: The four hour boat ride on the Li River was relaxing and we really enjoyed taking in the scenery and as well as watching wild animals, such as the ducks, goats, and water buffalos in their natural environment. However our peaceful enjoyment was kept on being interrupted by the pushy boat photographer that was constantly on loud speak-phone, hoarding the good photo spot at back of the boat and taking pictures of endless groups and groups of local tourists...so he can sell photos he took at end of the boat tour. We had trouble listening to stories our tour guide was telling us while the photographer was on the loud speaker. We had to wait until he finished talking and taking phots before we can relax and enjoy the view. We actually don’t mind paying more money to be a boat that does not allow any such loud photographers so we can enjoy the tours in peace. The sightseeing, the hotels, the tour guiding and the weather have all exceeded our expectations. Thank you Helen, our GuiLing guide, and the driver for taking good care of us, showing us beautiful Guilin and Yangshuo and learning the wonderful Chinese culture. Thank you, Selina, our Travel China Guide tour consultant, for doing a great job arranging the tour. And a big thank you to TravelChinaGuide for making our this China trip a wonderful experience. We will definitely coming back to China on another TravelChinaGuide tour to visit wonderful sites in China. Amy & Nick (Canada)
