I was surprised at how hospitable and kind Steven, our guide, was. He was perfectly informed not just in the tour we booked, but also on other possibilities to spend our free time in Dunhuang. He got us tickets for a chinese opera kind of show with a twenty percent discount even though that wasn't included in the tour we booked. He Wenz out to war with US and showed us one of his favourite restaurants, also He explained to US where we could find whatever we need or wanted to do in Dunhuang. His kindness even went as far AS hin sending the sunglasses I forgot in a manicure Club to my home adress in Austria. Also, the tour we booked was very well organised and really nice. Moggau Grottes were a real highlight of our trip to China. Excellent tour and guide!Mogao Grottoes are a must see: stunning caves with amazing decoration, well explained by the guides. Mogao Grottoes are a must see: stunning caves with amazing decoration, well explained by the guides. Timing was good - long enough to appreciate the differences in the 8 caves we visited but not so long to induce boredom for those who may be less interested in the history of the Silk Road. Yulin Caves also good - much quieter site than Mogao with more stairs/climbing. The Mingshan dunes are touristy but fun and the site is big so doesn’t feel crowded. Walk up the dunes is very physically challenging but the views from the top are great. Lots of camels means some great photos. Steve Kang and his company, Silk Road Angel Tours, was the perfect compliment to one of the most fantastic journeys I and we have ever experienced! The historic, cultural and spiritual significance of this region came alive in the 3 days we were under Steve’s care and tutelage. I would most highly recommend to my English speaking friends Steve and Silk Road Angel Tours. His compassion, knowledge and character shone brightly on the journey of a lifetime. His associate Leon who directed the Mogao Grottoes segment of the experience was also amazing and exuded passion and deep understanding of this wonder of the world. Hire them and thank me later. EddyOur Tour Guide Lily was wonderful. Very Informative and Attentive. Showing us all the local culture & eats.

Steven Kang has been our guide in our three day tour in Dunhuang and has been always very helpful and proactive with the two of us and our 10 year old daughter. He put together a trip with the main highlights including the Mogao Grottoes, the Crescent Moon spring, the Yumen pass and the not-to-be-missed Yulin caves. Also he helped us live quite unique local experiences with meals at non-touristic restaurants. I can recommend Steven for he is very well mannered and helpful, he even accompanied us to the check in desk at the airport to make sure all was in order. If you have questions about your trip to Dunhuang and vicinities make sure to contact him as he has a quite extensive knowledge of the area and the whole of the Silk Road experience including Xi’an and Kashgar plus Beijing where he studied at the local University. Also his driver that accompanied us is one of the best we had across the many places we visited in China. Always smiley and courteous and with a very safe and soft driving. Great job Steven! The trip was awesome, exceeds my expectation. Our tour guide Lily was the best. Very knowledgeable and attentive.
