What to expect
We have about 40 different scenarios, including 3D images and optical illusions, that make us enter the world of fantasy and imagination and believe that anything is possible.
Here, visitors can embody Van Gogh’s doctor, venture out on safari or even have a dinosaur as a pet. They can also see their world completely upside down, their head being served at a meal table, winging and flying in the cosmos, drinking a wine served by God in Miguel Ângelo’s Creation of Adam, and dance a Madeira folklore on your way out.
This space combines the science of visual perception with the magic of illusion and makes everything seem possible.

This is a great place for all ages. We are OAPs and had great fun taking pictures of each other beside the quirky 3D pictures. It passed about 45 minutes but it would have been longer if there’d been more of us. The staff were lovely. They explained what to do and even took photos on our phones of both of us together. It is a little walk from the main street. Go through the Municipal Gardens and keep on going uphill to Rua da Carreira and it is off there on Rua do Surdo. We went to a place like this in Dubrovnik but this was so much better. Fantastic for all ages and great inside activity for a windy/rainy dayA 3D Fun Art Museum is fun and entertaining, suitable for all age groups. It’s an interactive painting presentation offering great photograph opportunities and incredible fun. The staff were really nice and helped us achieve some hilarious pictures, a day to remember.

Having seen reviews on TA, decided to visit - very easy to find up from the Ritz Hotel up a small side street. The cost of admission was €9 each, and we were shown how to use the exhibits, where to stand to take the photographs. There are a number of rooms that you walk around and it was great fun taking the photos- whenever we were not sure of the best shots the young assistant was happy to take shots for us , and showing us what we needed to do. We were there about 90 min and was a great way to spend some time - especially as it was quiet so had the run of the place. It was a wet day in old Funchal Town and two bored pensioner were looking out of rain splatted window, after looking at their iPads when we spotted FunArt!, moments later a taxi sped us to the door and the fun began. It was a wet day in old Funchal Town and two bored pensioner were looking out of rain splatted window, after looking at their iPads when we spotted FunArt!, moments later a taxi sped us to the door and the fun began. Very helpful young staff and youthful outlook led to 2 hours of messing around with our cameras doing silly things. No additional cost other than the entry fee and one of the girls helped taking some of the pics too! Absolutely marvellous fun and it doesn’t have to be raining better than a stuffy old museum/art gallery Sadly it was still raining when we came out but time for glass of wine and spot of lunch Do go whatever your age or weather
