It was a dark and stormy night, and that caused our transfer from HK to UB to be delayed by 14hrs. We were supposed to set off to the Gobi the day after arriving, but because of the delay, we had to make alternate arrangements. In all my communication with Ooyuna, who was helping to reschedule the whole tour, she was extremely accommodating and helpful, and we made it to the Gobi in the end. :') When we finally made it to DZ, our guide, Sara, and our drivers (alas I do not know how to spell their names), were warm and friendly, and made us feel taken care of. They've got a good sense of humor! :) It's okay to ask them to stop at something that looks interesting, such as a small town or a herd of camels. The places we stayed at had wonderful views, fantastic facilities (proper toilets and showers with hot water) and excellent food (you will have to pay extra for beers and extra bottles of water, but these were about USD $2~5 each). The activities are at scenic spots, but may be physically challenging. Our guide cheered us on at each spot, but if your physical condition is not good, you may have to sit out on some of the activities (such as the sand dunes). Two things to take note of: 1) electricity and WiFi are in short supply, so bring along portable chargers, and expect spotty connections. 2) although the vans they supplied are comfortable enough, the trails between sites are terribly bumpy, so if you have back or neck problems, it might be quite hard on you. Expect 3-4hrs of driving each day.I researched several companies and found this to be the best tour and pricing available. A lot of tours didn’t offer the flight to Dalanzadgad. I researched several companies and found this to be the best tour and pricing available. A lot of tours didn’t offer the flight to Dalanzadgad. This would have added 8+ hours driving each way. I would highly recommend flying it instead of driving. The landscape of the driving you do to each ger camp site totals more than 10 hours and is definitely enough to take in the sites. Our guide Sara and our driver were very friendly, informative and accommodating. All of the communications with the company in booking this were very detailed and done promptly. We really enjoyed each location and the order that we did them. The ger tents were each different and had their own charm. One thing I would recommend is a flashlight or headlamps to go to the bathrooms at night. We also used it in the ger as sometimes the lights inside didn’t work. Also, at 2 of the gers we didn’t have electricity inside it, however, we were able to charge our devices inside the restaurants it could also be good to bring a car charger for phones to charge while driving. We really enjoyed the camel ride and the sunset hike at the Khongor sand dune. Leave enough time to get to the top. It’s definitely more challenging than it seems, but worth the sites from above if you can make it. I highly recommend this tour to anyone for a well-rounded tour with lovely staff, accommodations, and landscapes!!A fantastic trip, with well spaced out activities and excellent accommodation. We were picked up right on time at our hotel in Ulaanbatar and then flew to the Gobi. There we were met by our guide (Gerel) and driver (Bulgan Khangai) who made our Gobi tour a wonderful experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a lot of energy. Her English was good and she openly shared her knowledge of the Gobi and Mongolia which made the trip very interesting and entertaining. Our driver was a real professional, finding ways over and around obstacles that made for a comfortable ride. He wasn't as proficient in English but he understood our requests and was very friendly. We ate all of our meals together and felt that we got to know them as they got to know us. We did and saw everything that the other tour groups did but feel we were very lucky to have spent as much time as we did with Gerel and Bulgan. We travelled through the gobi with our guide Ooyuna and driver namasre. This is an amazing trip with lots of off-road or no-road driving. There is plenty of scenery, and the activities were fabulous.
