4-Hour Biblical Creation + Sunset Tour • Grand Canyon National Park South Rim
Overview
Meeting inside the park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center flag pole about four hours before the sun sets, the Sunset Rim Tour visits the very best locations of the South Rim’s east side. Along Desert View Drive, you will ride comfortably in our tour vehicle to each amazing overlook and vista.
Once we arrive at each spot on the tour, we will hop off the vehicle for incredible views, exploration, and exciting teaching tied into everything we’re seeing.
During the tour, your guide will spend time sharing about the geology, plants, animals, and people history of the canyon—and of course, the biblical message of Creation and the Flood as recorded in the book of Genesis. At the end of the tour, we will close out the day with the One who made it as the sun sets far to the west over the rim.

Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive.
Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops or order other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic.
Duration: 5 minutes
Stop At: Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim, S Entrance Rd about 2 mi east of El Tovar Hotel, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
Our tour meets at flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building inside the park at tour start time. Plan extra arrival time during spring and summer. Holidays and spring break may have lines over an hour long getting into the park. We suggest you arrive early and enjoy views at the Grand Canyon Village or Mather Point or a Rim Trail walk before joining our tour.
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Pipe Creek Vista, E Rim Dr Grand Canyon Village, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ 86023
Starting near the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, our first stop provides you with an introduction to the Grand Canyon and its geology.
We will lay the foundation for the rest of the tour regarding the biblical events of the Flood found in Genesis and the significance of what we'll be exploring throughout our tour.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Grandview Point, South Rim, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
Learn about the exciting Wild West people history at Grandview Point, with talks on mining both copper and tourist's pockets in the early days of the Grand Canyon National Park development.
Enjoy wide vistas and the distant Colorado River as we talk about the significance of the canyon and whether that river has the power to cut and remove this material.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Lipan Point, East Rim Drive, a few miles west of Desert View, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
While taking in fantastic river views, including one of the canyon's largest rapids, we will talk about the Native American Ancestral Puebloans who lived far below on the Unkar Delta.
At Lipan Point, we will also showcase the geological Great Unconformity, Cambrian Explosion, and the Tapeats Sandstone—all of which provide fantastic observable evidence for a global Flood.
Learn about the mechanisms of the Flood from its onset, and how we believe the sedimentary rock layers were deposited through this year-long destructive event of biblical proportions!
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Navajo Point, Desert View Dr, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ 86023
A lot of water, in a little bit of time. Learn about the carving of the Grand Canyon by what we call the "lake spillover" or "breached dam" model, something first proposed in geology all the way back in the 1800s and still held by both creation and some secular geologists alike today.
See beyond the Grand Canyon to the distant Vermillion and Echo Cliffs of the Marble Platform and southeast to parts of the Painted Desert. Learn about the nearby historic Desert View Watchtower, completed in 1932.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Moran Point, Desert View Dr., Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
Concluding at one of the very best locations to watch the sun as it sets below the distant cliff walls to the west, close out the day with the One who made it. Adequate time will be given to sit, relax, and enjoy this special time. Blankets are available, as is the comfort and warmth of the vehicle should we be in cooler weather.
Duration: 45 minutes

We were touring the Grand Canyon for the first time and had toured the first day on our own and the scenery was breathtaking. The 2nd day we took the train from Williams (1-way) and then did the Sunset Rim tour with Bob S. He has a passion for sharing the truth and his beliefs with people of all ages with gentleness and a touch of humor and shared passages from the Bible and from science to support his viewpoint. It was so very nice to hear both sides of the story: creation and Biblical account vs. secular viewpoint of evolution etc. We were traveling with a handicapped person and he treated her with respect and kindness every step of the way which we appreciated very much. At the end of our tour, we were given a free ride back to our vehicle at the depot in Williams. Highly recommend this tour.Bob gave a very nice guide and kind. Also the contents of explanation about the global flood was really helpful to understand it.

We took this 4 hour Sunset Tour of the South Rim with he train package from Williams. Best decision ever! Bob was our tour guide and was very knowledgable and informative. He did an excellent presentation of presenting the two views on how the canyon was formed. He weaved in biblical and scientific facts to support the creation and flood events. He also shared interesting perspectives on historic facts of the area that we would not have known if we had not taken the tour. Bob has a passion for sharing his faith which was refreshing and uplifting. We enjoyed the the tour thoroughly and would highly recommend this tour.It was a great tour!
