My wife and I were on a 4 hour ride with trail guide Hannah Wednesday 7/13. We could not have been happier with the experience. The horses were healthy and well cared for, the trail and stream crossings beautiful, and our guide skilled and professional, and full of stories we enjoyed. I would love to return and ride with BTR again.Probably the best way to start your trip in banff. Our guide was incredible and very personable and answered all of our questions. Even if you have never been on a horse you can do this. Very safe and 10/10 would recommend.

A 4 hour horse ride on a real mountain trail is a challenging, physically exhausting affair. With that said, it is also an amazing experience. The narrow trails wind thru mountain with steep slopes down along the left side. Thankfully, the horses don't want to fall off the mountain so both rider's & horse are safe. Twice we cross the river and when you make it back to the town of Banff, you will be greeted with travelers taking your picture like a movie star. I guess the pretty horses just invite a picture. Oh, the Black Bear we passed just off the trail (and next to the 18th hole on the golf course) was exciting, too! Prepare to have sore legs the next day from the ride.
