We booked the 5-in-1 tour (did not come to Progreso on a ship and with covid restrictions 5th part is not available which is beach club, which totally OK with skipping that part) with this company. The company is reliable and very knowledgeable. The staff is well trained and have bilingual guides available. Our guide, Ouva, had great information for us through out the tour and I learned a lot at each site. Wish we could see the flamingos closer but we cannot control that! We had a lot of fun at all the sites and it was a pleasure to have the private van and have our own pace at each stop. Will reccomend to anyone looking for a day trip to see the best of Progreso. Will pick you up wherever, your hotel or near the port/beach.Having been in several cruises we found Progresso to be a great port & absolutely loved our time with Uba of Sergio Tours. This was an amazing day! Our tour captain Uba picked us up and we were off to enjoy 5 locations in his comfortable transport van. Uba is extremely knowledgeable and ready to share fascinating details of the area's rich history and beauty. In the morning, we enjoyed a short boat trip to a beautiful ecological reserve where we learned how the mangroves have been maintained and treasured for many years as well as their importance to this environment. The cenote are crystal clear fresh water and feel incredible to swim in. We saw and learned about the local wildlife. Here you appreciate the hard work that has gone in to preserving this location. After this we spotted some flamingos in the flamingo sanctuary. We were so lucky to see them flying and in their natural habitat. Then we were off to the beautiful pink salt mines where we learned about the Mayan tradition, how it was formed, how they mine it and their trade. Here you can purchase some of your own treasure salt to take with you. Trust me you will want it. Once we finished here we went to the Mayan site Xcambo where Uba taught us about how the Mayans lived, traded and kept their salt. Today you can still touch and even climb on these ruins and get ideas about what life was really like for the Mayan culture in their time. After this we had worked up quite an appetite and Uba took us to eat traditional Yucatan cuisine (fresh seafood). Finally we ended the day in beautiful Chuburná where fresh water meets ocean water and we walked out onto the jetty point to a lighthouse. The views here are breath taking. For this trip Uba prepped us in advance of how to dress, footwear needs and what to bring. He made sure we had every comfort covered. We are a bilingual family and Uba did a great job flipping back and forth between English and Spanish. He brought us back home happy and fulfilled with alot of appreciation for all that we learned on our trip. This trip is worth it to truly know and appreciate the beauty Yucatan gives to us all. This tour was extremely informational and fun. The sights were stunning, and Uva went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible.
