For whoever is reading this, I did not go to Azerbaijan with a lot of expectations especially after visiting most of Europe, but I must say that the country is amazing and is much better than most european countries. You get to feel the culture and at the same time you get those modern vibes. The infrastructure, the roads, the facilities are great, the people are really nice and helpful although communication sometimes was a bit of a problem. We opted for Baku, Shahdag and Gabala tours with Caspi. It started with the experience of dealing with Mr. Karim who helped us with build our itinerary. The guy I thought is a real professional. Explained all aspects of the trip very clearly and in detail, was very patient with me and answered all my queries with full satisfaction. He did not take any advance from me which I found a bit strange but I guess they work on trust. I HAVE to mention about our tour guide Mr. Gunduz, who is a real gem of a person. Great guy, very professional and knowledgeable, never said no to any request we made. Took us tirelessly from place to place, he really is a powerhouse. I really connected with the guy and I consider him my brother now. For me these are the things that meant a lot and made our trip memorable. Overall Azerbaijan has a lot to offer, Baku is one of the best cities I have visited and Gabala - nature at its best.I took the solo trip in September 2023, I contacted Caspi tours & their response and bookings were swift. I took the solo trip in September 2023, I contacted Caspi tours & their response and bookings were swift. Best part about their style is you get to the hotel and pay in AZN or USD. The hotel accommodation was pleasant with good food. A driver was provided for the entire trip who was very friendly and knowledgeable about his country. If you plan on visiting a country with European vibes, rich culture and heritage Azerbaijan has to that place. Gobustan, Qabala, Yanardag, 7waterfalls, cable, Isheri Seher, and 4 mountain car cable are some of my favorite among the many places I visited. The food was top class. I requested the driver to take me to the authentic Azeri restaurants and I was not disappointed. I thank Caspi tours for their hospitality and ensuring that they make my stay & vist eventful and memorable. Thank you.Amazing experience in this amazing country with these amazing people. Amazing experience in this amazing country with these amazing people. We were lucky to get introduced to Rauf as our guide who showed us around the country. He was always on time and i would rate his driving skills as 10 on 10. The van was spacious and was perfect as we were traveling with 2 kids. We saw Shahdag, Gabala, Guba and many other places. He took us to these amazing places for lunch and hence i suggest if your visiting this place you should try out their local food.Found this operator from the website and contacted them through Whatsapp where they provided us with all the information we need. Found this operator from the website and contacted them through Whatsapp where they provided us with all the information we need. We asked for custom 5 days 4 night tour for two couples. I dealt with Karim who explained that we don't have to pay anything until we arrived in Baku, sounds a little bit too good to be true but apparently that's how it works. Our driver turn a good friend named Rauf, he picked us up from the airport and helped us to check in at Holiday Inn hotel. Unfortunately the rooms were not ready so we headed for lunch at Salam Aleykum restaurant where the price is on the high side but they have amazing service and food. With a full stomach we go for city sight seeing before finally back to hotel. Rauf speaks good English and we are happy to have his company as he is very attentive, on time, and always have good recommendation for place to eat or to shop. He treated us as his own family and likewise. The next day Rauf drove us to Gabala in the same van, a Mercedez Vito with intermittent AC problem but we are okay with that. We stopped by in some picnic area for a street food (kind of veggies wrap) and in Meyseri winery to have some coffee and take pictures. We had lunch in Xanlar Gabala restaurant where Rauf introduces us to the owner of the restaurant and gave me tour to the kitchen. We also ride the cable car for four stations up to the highest point. At the end of the day, we stayed in Macara Hotel in the mountainous area of Sheki. Day 3, we went back to Baku but not before we did some sight seeing and visiting the Kish Albanian temple and the Old Ruler's Palace of Sheki. We passed by Bio Garden but we decided not to enter it as the weather is too hot. Day 4, we visited Mount of Fire, Fire Temple and Haydar Ali Centre. Actually Qobustan rock art was in the list but we decided not to go to that desert area at 45 degree Celsius! So instead we headed to the city for lunch and let the ladies to go shopping in the mall. After lunch, I asked Rauf if we, the boys, can try the metro system while waiting for our ladies go shopping. Although according to him, he has not been using the Metro for the past 10 years, he still successfully get us the Baku Metro ride. A much enjoyable experience than just sitting down in a shopping mall :) Day 5, time to go back to Dubai where we live, but the airline decided to cancel our 2pm flight and we have to take the 11pm flight. Once again, Rauf can accommodate that sudden change of schedule without any problem. He picked us up around 8pm from the hotel and drove us to Haydar Ali Airport where we have to part. We brought back great experience and memory during our stay in Azerbaijan. Thanks Tour Baku, Karim and especially Rauf! Note: I will have separate detailed reviews on the place we visited, stay tuned!
