What to expect

Itinerary

Day 1: NJP/IXB TO GANGTOK. (125 kms, 4-5 hrs approx)

Stop At: Gangtok, Gangtok, East Sikkim, Sikkim
On arrival at njp railway station / ixb airport our representative will welcome you and transfer you to gangtok. Gangtok is a city , municipality, the capital and the largest town of the indian state of sikkim. It also is the headquarters of the east sikkim district. Gangtok is in the eastern himilayan range, at an elevation of (5410 ft). The town's population of 100, 000 are from different ethnicities such as bhutia, lepchas and indian gorkhas. Within the higher peaks of the himilaya and with a year-round mild temperature climate, gangtok is at the centre of sikkim's tourism industry.

Check-in to your hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Tsomgo lake and Baba Mandir excursion.

Stop At: Tsomgo Lake, Jawaharlal Nehru Road Tathangchen Area, Gangtok 737101 India
This morning start for a half day trip to tsomgo lake (12400ft), which is only 32kms from gangtok city. Leave from the hotel around 8-10 am basis availability of permit, the same will be communicated by the driver. The lake is almost about 1km long and 15 meters deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people.

Stop At: Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple, Between Nathula And Jelepla Pass, Gangtok India
Further 12kms visit the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple.

Evening free at gangtok for shopping and individual activity.

Day 3: GANGTOK TO PELLING (116 kms 4 hrs approx)

Pass By: Pelling, Pelling, West Sikkim, Sikkim
This morning after breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to pelling.
After arrival in pelling, check in-to your hotel and relax. Take in the views of the range of mt. kanchenjunga from here.
In the evening, you can choose to explore the local markets of the city.

Day 4: PELLING FULL DAY LOCAL CITY TOUR WITH SKY WALK

Stop At: Rimbi Waterfalls, Rimbi River 5 Km From Darap Village, Pelling India
Rimbi Waterfall - Situated 5 km from Darap en route to Khecheopalri. It is the oldest in west Sikkim being constructed in early 70s during the reign of the last Sikkimese King. The state government has developed the Sewaro Rock Garden here which is complete with rocks, pathways, pools, manicured gardens etc.

Stop At: Kanchenjunga Falls, Pelling India
Kanchenjunga Falls - Further 18 km from Rimbi River and about 28 km from Pelling. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sikkim and is normally active throughout the year.

Stop At: Khecheopalri Lake, Pelling India
Khecheopalri Lake, originally known as Kha-Chot-Palri (meaning the heaven of Padmasambhava), is a lake located near Khecheopalri village of Pelling.
Located 34 kilometres to the northwest of Pelling town, the lake is sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake. The local name for the lake is Sho Dzo Sho, which means "Oh Lady, Sit Here". The popularly known name of the lake, considering its location is Khecheopalri Lake, ensconced in the midst of the Khechoedpaldri hill, which is also considered a sacred hill.
The lake is an integral part of the much revered valley of "Demazong" meaning valley of rice. This landscape is also known as a land of hidden treasures blessed by Guru Padmasambhava.

Stop At: Pemayangtse Monastery, India
The Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Pemayangtse, near Pelling in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. Planned, designed and founded by Lama Lhatsun Chempo in 1647, it is one of the oldest and premier monasteries of Sikkim, also the most famous in Sikkim.Originally started as a small Lhakhang, it was subsequently enlarged during the reign of the third Chogyal Chakdor Namgyal and Khenchen Rolpai Dorjee in the year 1705 and consecrated by the third Lhatsun Chenpo Dzogchen Jigme Pawo in the year 1710 C.E. The monastery follows the Nyingma Order of Tibetan Buddhism and controls all other monasteries of that Order in Sikkim. The monks of this monastery are normally chosen from the Bhutias of Sikkim.
The monastery was built for "pure monks" (ta-tshang) meaning "monks of pure lineage", celibate and without any physical abnormality. This practice is still retained. Only the monks of Pemayangtse Monastery are entitled to the title "ta-tshang".

Stop At: Rabdentse Ruins, Pelling India
Rabdentse Palace Ruins - Rabdentse was the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814. The capital city was destroyed by the invading Gurkha army and only the ruins of the palace and the chortens are seen here now. However, the ruins of this city are seen close to Pelling and in West Sikkim district in the Northeastern Indian state of present-day Sikkim; Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim which is close to the ruins.

Stop At: Sky Walk Pelling Sikkim, Pelling 737113 India
Pelling Sky Walk and Chenrezig Statue - A new attraction near Sanga Choeling is the gigantic 137 feet statue of Chenrezig (Avalokitesvara) and a transparent Sky Walk made of glass that leads to the statue. It was opened in November 2018 and since then it has attracted significant footfall.

Day 5: PELLING TO DARJEELING (72 kms 3 hrs approx)

After having your breakfast this morning, your will be taken to darjeeling from pelling. All the way, you will be accompanied by the magical beauty of the himalayas and the beautiful views of the valleys. Day 6: Darjeeling local city tour

Stop At: Tiger Hill Upper Darjeeling, Darjeeling 734101 India
Early morning at 4.00 am visit tiger hill (sunrise point over mt. Kanchenjunga) witness the glorious himilayan mountains at day break. The sunrise against the highest peak in India is a sight to behold, and back to hotel for break fast.

After breakfast half day city tour covering , Old Ghoom Monastery is the popular name of Yiga Choeling. The monastery belongs to the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat sect and is known for its 15 feet-high statue of the Maitreya Buddha.

The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was established in Darjeeling, India on 4 November 1954 to encourage mountaineering as an organized sport in India.

Stop At: Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Jawahar Parbat, Darjeeling 734101 India
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is a 67.56-acre zoo in the town of Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal. The zoo was opened in 1958, and an average elevation of 7, 000 feet, is the largest high altitude zoo in India.(closed on thursday)

Stop At: Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Hillside 27, West Lebong Cart Road, Darjeeling 734101 India
Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre in Darjeeling, India is a rehabilitation centre for the Tibetan refugees in the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region. It was established on 2 October 1959, after they followed Dalai Lama and escaped from Tibet. The production of Tibetan handicraft is the centre's main activity. (closed on sunday)
