Iceland was unforgettable and for lack of a better word it was absolutely amazing. A life long dream come true. I was very happy with the organisation of the tour and we did everything on the itinerary. I do think, however that the difficulty should be moderate and not easy. And I wish the guide at the ice cave activity had told us to wear plastic bags in our shoes to prevent our feet from getting soaking wet. Overall the tour was excellent value for money!Highly recommend! Did a 8 days tour with our tour guide John. Felt that the package by Troll expeditions is pretty well balanced and doable in winter. Good pacing, good amount of time spent at each spot. Our guide Jóhann, is not just a simple guide, he has a good personality to hang out with, ladies love him and he is always open to provide more information about Iceland. I can't say for the other guides but Jóhann was like every other review over here - good vibes, good guide. We did the 8-Days Around Iceland Winter Minibus Tour and can only recommend this one. We did the 8-Days Around Iceland Winter Minibus Tour and can only recommend this one. Organization: Everything was well organized and timed, we did not have to worry about anything, neither for the pick-up nor for the check-ins into the hotels during the tour. Tour & Time Schedule: We have seen so many awesome and beautiful sceneries on that tour that - even after a couple weeks - we are still processing. It absolutely helped to take our minds off and feel like being in a different mystic universe. As there was more to see every day than it was described on the official schedule (it was named surprise stops) it really forced us to let go and give ourselves into the hands of our tour guide and relax and be happy. Though it was relaxing for the mind, the tour was still kind of physically challenging: it’s a rough time schedule every day - we started the drives early every day, it was long days with late returns to the hotels and included lots of walking and hikes. A decent fitness level definitely helps a lot! However, for us - who wanted to see a lot during a short time period - the tour was just perfect! And our lovely tour guide always took care of ALL people and always found a solution when somebody would have needed a break. Tour Guide: Rögnvaldur Birgir Gunnarsson Johnsen (Rocky) was our Tour Guide and he was just the best we could ever have wished for!!! He was funny and an entertainer at heart (with a great taste in music). He took such good care of us and always brought a happy and positive feeling and good vibes into the group. After the first day we already felt so comfortable with Rocky that we let ourselves go and were totally in vacation mode. He was always there for us even if someone from us needed something, he took care of it and helped with everything. He was ambitious to track down the Northern lights for us and this way, he made us see the Northern lights on three nights which was just the best experience ever. Conclusion: At first, we were really hesitant to book an organized tour instead of traveling by ourselves. We were worried that it would be too „touristic“, the group might be annoying, we wouldn‘t feel so free and would miss being independent, But none of this happened. Instead we saw places - thanks to our guide Rocky - we would have never found on our own. We also were really lucky with our group consisting of 13 people (including us) from all over the world. Looking back, it was great to share all these memories with really fun people. Made this trip even better! We also never felt rushed and had enough time during the stops. We highly recommend this trip! We will be back!John with Troll was a great guide! We had constantly changing weather, and he did a great job of working around weather alerts and still helping us have a wonderful experience, seeing all that iceland has to offer. It was the trip of a lifetime!

We booked an 8 day tour offered by Tröll Expeditions with the same hopes as most everyone else...to catch the Northern Lights. We soon learned that the beautiful country of Iceland is SOOOO much more than Northern Lights. Our trip around the Ring Road was spectacular. The volcanoes, the waterfalls, the National Parks, horse back riding, glacier and ice cave exploring. My personal favorite was time spent on Diamond Beach, reflecting on the awesomeness of what we were experiencing. Our guide and driver, Jonthor, was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable, and his passion for this beautiful country was apparent. There were several days where the weather made for tricky driving. I always felt 100% comfortable with Jonthor at the wheel. With his great sense of humor, we never knew what story was coming next (and there were many, both happy and sad). Thank you Tröll Expeditions and Jonthor for memories that will last a lifetime! And while Mother Nature did not see fit to share her Northern Lights with us, it doesn't matter! The experience was complete even without them!
