What to expect
Our Wildlife & Snowshoeing adventure offers an authentic winter experience that combines the wildness of Grand Teton National Park and the discovery of the ecology and wildlife that make it unique.
We’ll spend the first half of the day on a snowshoe adventure in Grand Teton National Park. While we are exploring the backcountry we will keep an eye out for animal tracks and signs, discussing topics like winter ecology and snow science. In the field you will be treated to a variety of high quality snacks. We’ll take a break for lunch and switch gears in the afternoon to focus on viewing wildlife. Sit back and relax in our fully outfitted safari style rig as we pursue wildlife such as bighorn sheep, elk, moose, deer, coyote, fox, eagles, trumpeter swans and more. Your local guide and naturalist will lead discussions on topics of your interest and provide you with ample time to take photographs. When booking the group option you will enjoy a leisurely pace when snowshoeing. For private offerings we can accommodate any energy level.

Our family (us and our 12 and 9 year old) had the best day. The first half was spent searching for wildlife and we found plenty. The 2 moose, a coyote eating an elk carcass, and big horned rams were the highlight in addition to many others. After a great lunch we spent the rest of the time snow shoeing. It was a beautiful place and such a special experience. We loved our tour guide Bo! He did a great job keeping us informed about the wildlife and the area. He was so engaging that even our super shy daughter was asking him her own questions. We really loved our time with Bo seeing all the beauty that Jackson Hole has to offer. We had the incredible luck to have the BEST guide - Harlan Gough! Harlan kept looking for wildlife the whole time, not stopping for a second, and thanks to him we saw the great bald eagle, elks, moose and many more animals! We had the incredible luck to have the BEST guide - Harlan Gough! Harlan kept looking for wildlife the whole time, not stopping for a second, and thanks to him we saw the great bald eagle, elks, moose and many more animals! Thanks to his biology knowledge (PhD!!) we got to learn a lot about wildlife, their habitat and the geological wonders! With his help we experienced our first ever snowshoeing hike, he was patient the whole time helping and guiding us through. And let's not forget the hot cocoa in this cold weather. The tour was incredible, and we can't thank Harlan enough for this great experience!Drew was very accommodating and knowledgeable. He knew where to go to find the animals that we wanted to see. He went above and beyond to make the day fabulous!

We did not really know what the day would look like when we signed up for this trip. However, even we could not have predicted what a great adventure this would be. Our guide, Mark Byall, was a friendly naturalist with a ton of knowledge about the flora/fauna as well as the cultural history of the area. He showed us bison, moose, and coyotes - so many coyotes. Seeing mountain sheep for the first time would always be an highlight of our trip. We did a nice snowshoeing hike for about 2 hours in Tetons where Mark provided insights on the surrounding ecosystem from glacier lakes to bears. Also, the french press coffee is something else! I highly recommend this trip. Our guide, Bo Welden, was fantastic. Our guide, Bo Welden, was fantastic. He and his colleagues did an excellent job of locating wildlife (moose, elk, wolves, coyotes, bison, swans, eagle, and squirrels) for us to see. Using their telescopes made it so easy to see, and we even got copies of the video recorded through the telescopes. Our video had a wolfpack tracking the elk herd with bison in the background. Amazing! Our son was pursuing part of the Snow Sports Boy Scout badge that day. Bo patiently reviewed the requirements and made sure that he was able to do all parts of the requirements. We all enjoyed snowshoeing. The route we took - both on and off the path! - was stunningly gorgeous and suited all of us on the trip that day. The snacks and lunch were fantastic also.We had an amazing day of scenery, wildlife viewing and snowshowing fun with Seth. We had an amazing day of scenery, wildlife viewing and snowshowing fun with Seth. Seth was a fantastic guide - so knowledgeable about the geology, flora, fauna and history of the area and made it all fun and accessible to our group which included 2 energetic teenage boys. The pace of the day was perfect and the vehicle with it's rooftop and window viewing opportunities was very comfortable. Eco Tour Adventures also provided lots of thoughtful touches from french press coffee to delicious snacks. Would highly recommend this day and many thanks to Seth!
