Overview

Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions offer you a guided adventure into the Amazon jungle where on a 5 days jungle trip which two nights, s are spent out in the jungle. On this tour it is possible to explore the forest in a non-conventional way, normally done in small groups. Very important because the less noise and you have more chance to listing to your guide during the explanations, and more chance to spot some wildlife out in the rain forest. This adventure tour in the Amazon is done with the Minun of 2 people and a maximum of 6 per Guide. Join us on a trip of a lifetime In the Amazon Jungle In Brazil.

What to expect

Itinerary

Day 1: Jungle Tour

Pass By: State of Amazonas, State of Amazonas
After we pick you up at 07:30 am in Manaus, our journey begins! We head to Ceasa Port, where we board a speedboat, with a first stop along the Rio Negro river to the meeting of the waters, the black Rio Negro and brown Solimões never mix. Next, we will stop at the floating village of Catalão. Here you can visit a fish farm and see the Giant Arapaima Gigas, among Amazon’s most powerful creatures!

After that, we’ll head to Careiro village and take off to Maçarico Lake by speedboat; you’ll arrive at your destination around 11:30 am and a delicious lunch will be served at noon!

Pass By: Meeting of Waters, Rio Negro e Rio Solimoes, Manaus, State of Amazonas 69005-141 Brazil
This afternoon, at 3:00 pm we’ll head out on a jungle boat trip to spot some of the Amazon’s most exotic animals. You will have an opportunity to see pink river dolphins and colorful birds! Afterward, enjoy watching as the sun sets overall, and finally return to the lodge. At 8:30 pm we’ll head out again to find the elusive Cayman. Your jungle guide will scoop one up, allowing you to see it up close, before carefully releasing it into its natural habitat again!

Meals included:
• Lunch: Generally prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.
• Dinner: Generally prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.
Accommodation included: At the Amazon Boto lodge is based on private rooms, with air condition and private bathroom and mosquito nets.

Day 2: Jungle Tour

Pass By: Pousada Amazon Boto, Careiro - State of Amazonas, 69250-000, Brazil
We’ll take a motorized boat at 5:30 am to watch the jungle waking up before our eyes, you’ll no doubt be awestruck. Then after an informative morning trek with medicinal plants and insect life as we explore what they need to survive – along with any possible wildlife sightings like monkeys! Once the trek has been completed, it’s back to the lodge for lunch.

At 3 pm we’ll leave by motorized boat along the river banks, fishing for several species of piranha while enjoying a scenic view! During the trip, there are different species of birds and insects can be spotted. Afterward, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner.

• Lunch: Generally prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.

Accommodation included: At the Amazon Boto lodge is based on private rooms, with air condition and private bathroom and mosquito nets.

Day 3: Jungle Tour

Pass By: Pousada Amazon Boto, Careiro - State of Amazonas, 69250-000, Brazil
Your early morning is spent exploring the Amazon! You’ll take a motorized boat at 5:30 am to a serene spot where you will see the jungle waking up to a new sunrise. Back to the lodge for breakfast at 08:00 am, then to Várzea forest, an area flooded with many small channels and waterways. This trip will give you a unique perspective on this natural wonderland as we explore the flora & fauna found here. During the dry season when there’s no water from August- March, this trip will be done on foot. It is a great area for seeing animals like monkeys or sloths in their natural habitats. When we finish, it’s back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, at 3 pm, the group will get a small regional boat where you will have the opportunity to experience paddling among the channel and the small igarapes. During this trip, there is a good opportunity to spot some wildlife and enjoy the sound of nature. Then back to the lodge for Dinner.

• Lunch: Generally prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.
• Dinner: Are generally prepared with regional fresh fish, rice, vegetables and Manioc wheat.
Accommodation included: Camping out in the Jungle sleeping in Hammock with mosquito net.

Day 4: Camping out in The Jungle

Pass By: Juma Lake Inn, Margem direita, Lago do Juma Lago do Juma - Autazes, AM, 69068-241, Brazil
You’ll be up at 7am for breakfast, then it’s off to visit a local family who live by the river! You will see how they grow their own fruits and have fun tasting some of them too. On the way back to the lodge, you will have the opportunity to swim in the river, having fun the way the local Amazonian people do.

After lunch, at 3pm, you will leave the lodge to camp out in the Amazon Jungle. Your guide will help you to set up camp and prepare dinner in a remote part of the jungle. We will provide the hammocks and mosquito nets that will be your bed for the night and you will prepare the meals for the night out in the jungle by a fire.

After dinner, you will leave by boat for a night safari trip to explore the river banks looking out for some wildlife with a spotlight. Also depending on the time of the year from July to January it is possible to go spearfishing. Then back to camp for the night.

• Lunch: Are generally prepared with regional fresh fish, rice, vegetables and Manioc wheat.
• Dinner: Are generally prepared with regional fresh fish, rice, vegetables and Manioc wheat.
Accommodation included: Camping out in the Jungle sleeping in Hammock with mosquito net.

Day 5: Camping out

Once the sun rises, the group will leave for an early morning hike in the jungle to explore and listen to the sounds of the animals as a new day dawns.Then we head back to the camp for breakfast and then get on the boat back to the lodge for lunch.

At 1:00 pm we begin our journey back to Manaus with an arrival scheduled for 4:00 pm at your hotel or airport.

• Breakfast: Cracker, eggs, coffee, milk, tea a and fruits
• Lunch: Generally prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.
No accommodation included on this day.
