Great fun with Heaven & Earth Tours on this 9kms bike ride thru the countryside. First we went on a boat for about 45 mins to an island, got on our bikes & cycled a short distance to a local village to see how a small Vietnamese community lives which was very interesting. We gradually made our way back to Hoi An on the bikes stopping along the way to have happy hour (sampling of rice wines…yummy!), see workers in the rice paddy fields & visited the studio of a very skilled wood carver who uses in-laid mother of pearl to create intricate pieces of art. We also learned what’s involved in making a bamboo boat & got to ride in one with Sexy Lady (go on the tour to learn more), then on a short ferry ride back to Hoi An. Overall, we had so much fun & really enjoyed the afternoon. Lots of water was provided & the two guides were great & provided an informative tour. Thank you!Highly enjoyed the tour, I felt so happy and at peace in the country side. Lovely guides. Must do when in Hoi An Only thing to improve: bit more cycling. I was also amazed by the price hike in March. We booked in Feb fortunately and still paid old price. Therefore I really feel it was worth the moneyWas a great way to spend the afternoon in Hoi An. My wife, adult son, and I took the afternoon countryside tour with Diem as our guide in late February. First of all, Diem was a fantastic guide. She added a lot of insight to sites, was very easy to understand, and was very witty. The tour itself was very good. Several interesting stops and the 5 hours flew by. We tried some rice wine and basket boats, and saw local artisans making sleeping mats and mother-of-pearl objects. We had an opportunity to purchase some simple snacks and drinks. Whenever we had an option to purchase something, there was absolutely no pressure or hard sell (unlike some tours in other countries that we have taken).Tai was a very friendly tour guide. Tai was a very friendly tour guide. Starting in Hoi An old quarter, then into the “rural” areas gave a better understanding of the reality of the way a lot of Vietnamese live. Cycling was easy (although having not ridden a bike for about ten years I’m sure some parts of my body will be feeling it tomorrow 😂) . Tai was happy to explain things or stop for photo opp. the bamboo basket boat was good but in the knowledge that there is an implied expectation to provide a small tip for the entertainment (which is fine). We had dinner, cooked by a local family, rather than a restaurant, food was great and it was a nice touch to help out a family had their family income eliminated during covid tourism lockdowns etc. A very enjoyable arvoIt was so nice to cycle around the island and witness the traditional way of life and making various produce. It was so nice to cycle around the island and witness the traditional way of life and making various produce. The guides were lovely, helpful and very attentive. I hadn't been on a bike in almost 20 years, but I felt very safe and relaxed cycling there and the guides made sure I felt fine and in my element, which I did. I would highly recommend this company and its tours.
