The guides on Sarah Island were great, as was our guide - James - at the landing and walk. Photo opportunities the whole trip. We had gold seats. I would definitely pay extra for either platinum or gold seats rather than the standard seats. Much better view.Excellent experience! Excellent experience! The Red Boat cruise is owned and operated by locals and staffed by considerate, attentive and knowledgeable folks. The guides for the land portion (Sarah Island prison ruins and temperate rainforest walk) were entertaining as well as informative. The boat visits several areas in the bay and the scenic World Heritage Gordon River, with the captain providing interesting commentary and history along the way. Dinner offering was a cold buffet of fresh salads, meats and cheeses.Welcoming staff and smooth boat ride to Hells Gate, back past the Salmon farms and stops at Sarah Island and forest board walk. Welcoming staff and smooth boat ride to Hells Gate, back past the Salmon farms and stops at Sarah Island and forest board walk. The seating was very comfortable and great views from the windows on the upper deck. Recommend getting the window UD seats. Meals and drinks were great. Daniel, working the bar on the Upper Deck provided excellent service on the day. Only criticism was the captain’s commentary was a little annoying, as he continually corrected himself, however lots of good information provided throughout the tour on the history of the Gordon River and the World Heritage River Cruise company. An enjoyable afternoon and great way to tour the waters.Great afternoon and loved Sarah island and the local guide! The boat ride was very enjoyable and all of the staff where so lovely!!

There is a very tasty buffet during the trip. The guide on Sarah Island was awesome. The highlight for me was the boardwalk on heritage landing. You can see some huon pines. I highly recommend the tour.
