Spending $30 on a transfer from any station in Uzbekistan is ridiculous. We were hustled when we first arrived in Tashkent to pay 200,000 Uzbek soms (about $17 USD) for a 10-15 minute ride to our hotel. We found out that the real price should have been closer to 20,000 soms ($1.70 USD) and it's...
Spending $30 on a transfer from any station in Uzbekistan is ridiculous. We were hustled when we first arrived in Tashkent to pay 200,000 Uzbek soms (about $17 USD) for a 10-15 minute ride to our hotel. We found out that the real price should have been closer to 20,000 soms ($1.70 USD) and it's rare that one has to spend more than 1 USD - 2 USD to get a taxi to drive you anyplace in Tashkent, or Samarkand or Bukhara.
