Day 1: Tiananmen Square-Forbidden City-Hutong-Lama Temple (L)
Stop At: Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang), West Changan Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100006 China
Tian’anmen Square, the world’s largest public square. Explore the sites around the square with opportunities to take some amazing pictures.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Forbidden City-The Palace Museum, No.4 Jingshanqian Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100009 China
Forbidden City, the largest Imperial Palace in the world. you will spend a couple of hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace.
Forbidden City was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. For around 500 years , it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.
The tour route : Forbidden City is divided into two parts. The southern section, or the Outer Court was where the emperor exercised his supreme power over the nation. The northern section, or the Inner Court was where he lived with his royal family.

Stop At: Shichahai Scenic Resort, Yangfang Lane, Xicheng District, Beijing 100009 China
Walk around old Beijing hutong at the downtown area. Hutong is a Mongolian word meaning water well. At nine meters (about 30 feet) wide, it is the name given to a lane or small street that originated during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). Now they have become representatives of local culture, thus it is the first choice for people who would like to learn about the local history and culture.

The most well-preserved Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Beijing.

Day 2: Option 1, Mutianyu Wall with Olympic Stadiums; Option 2: Mutianyu with one fantastic show (Acrobatic or Kongfu show)(L)
Stop At: Mutianyu Great Wall, Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing China
Mutianyu Great Wall is a one of the most famous and ideal sections of the Great Wall. You will have your choice of taking the cable car or chair lift up the breathtaking wall and spend a leisurely 1 to 2 hours hiking up and down the various sections exploring the Watch Towers and marveling at the construction and beauty of the renown and legendary Wall. You then have the option of an exhilarating toboggan ride back down or simply return the way you came.

Temple of Heaven, the largest Imperial place of worship from ancient times. This special place becomes a park where the local community utilizes this beautiful and enormous space for social activities such as singing, dancing, and Tai chi practice.

Hongqiao market offers just about everything you can think of – electronics, clothes, shoes, jewelry, art, crafts, and pearls. You can also find a huge array of souvenirs you can buy (own expense) here. Learn how to bargain is really fun.

It is with great pleasure that I commend my local guide Steven and designated driver Mr Xu, booked via the very engaging Jenna & Catherine from Catherine Lu Tours. From the booking process (and the many correspondence about places to go and logistics) to our landing in Beijing to the day-to-day hospitality, everything can only be described as: fabulous. Steven is very well-versed with Chinese history (having majored in Chinese history in tertiary sturdies) and he’s not just any kinda “well-versed.” He could regurgitate stories after stories of a subject, and then go deeper into sub-plots and why things were the way they were and why things are the way they are now. Hugely impressive! Steven is also second to none when it comes to food recommendations and photography spots, having done this for over a decade now. Pssssst! Get Steven to take your photos for you - he knows how to position photos and work the cameras, resulting in stunning captures. This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Mr Xu our driver who surpassed all expectations, reaching on time every single time upon the conclusion of each touristy endeavour. And also Jenna, who I must say is one of the best when it comes to “getting back to you via email”! Her responses are always long, detailed and super quick. I found myself needing to keep up at times so as to not leave her waiting... it’s usually the other way around you know! Huge thumbs up. Justin was a superb guide, speaking excellent English , and showing us Beijing. Our drivers were excellent too, finding their way into the tiny Hutong alleyways to our great hotel. While travelling, I usually take everything on my own shoulders. And originally planned so in case of the trip with my son to Beijing. But while preparing for the trip and after reading some comments, I have finally decided to contact Catherine Lu Tours. And simply - could not take better decision! The service was EXCELLENT from the first second. The pre-trip communication with Catherine was superb. The e-mail exchange was fast and very efficient. We have came to the tailored made plan of our trip and agreed the major topics quickly. Catherine has provided all essential information and, what's even more important, requirements, which came into effect once China re-opened for tourists after the Covid. Thanks to it we were able to prepare ourselves for the visit very well and complete all the points from our planned-to-visit list. While in Beijing, we have been guided by Jerry (the first day) and Sonia (other three days). Both were GREAT, very friendly, with enourmous knowledge, providing a lot of very interesting information, tips and priceless advices. Though we have had "a general plan" of the visit, they were fully flexible and any required changes were applied according to our needs or circumstances. As the result we have not only completed all points from our original program but done it in the most effective and pleasant way! Though I found the service a bit pricy at the beginning, before arriving to Beijing, I have completely changed my opinion after those 4 days. I could not spend the money in a better way. Trip was planned flawlessly! Our tour guide Sonia was very knowledgeable and also fun! She was great with our boys (ages 6 & 4) and was able to adjust our itinerary depending if they were getting too tired or hungry. Overall, wonderful experience!! Would book again with Sonia :)

Great wall and the Hutong food tour were amazing experiences. Tianmen square, Summer palace, Forbidden city, Ming tomb, Temple of Heaven, Lama temple were so full of history and therefore very interesting to learn about. Catherine was great together with our other tour guide Sonia and the drivers...
