The visit to the Summer Villa was very special in learning more about Thai history and culture. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught me much about the region's history and the special place the summer palace had for the Queen. Visits to local markets was also very interesting and learning more about the geography with the Golden Triangle proved educational, too. Even learned some Thai words and phrases from my very patient tour host. A day well spent. Our tour guide was amazing! So knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about the history of the area and the culture! We had some great pictures too! Would highly recommend to everyone!

Full day tour by private car. Our guide Gap spoke good English and provided informed insight at all places we visited. The day was quite busy but the weather cooperated and we enjoyed all stops. These included wonderful gardens around Doi Tung royal villa, breathtaking views in the mountains where a tasty lunch was served, far flung outposts at the Thai-Myanmar border, shopping at border town of Mae Sai (border crossing is closed), Golden Triangle viewpoint with adjacent opium museum and ancient temples at Chiang Saen. We even had time for watching the sunset at Chiang Saen Lake and a brief visit to one of the local night markets back in Chiang Rai. I would highly recommend this tour.
