Very nice and relaxing. The 2 guides Sam, and I have sadly forgotten the other ones name. They were both amazing. They kept us safe and were very friendly with us all while informing us with all the info we needed

In the Coromandel for a healing weekend following some stress back in Auckland, we found Boom's website and booked a half day cruise. I have long maintained that you don't really get to know a place until you've seen it from the water. So I try and book something like this every time we visit somewhere coastal. Out of the two of us, my wife is the non-sailor and sometimes feels like she gets dragged along on these excursions. WELL, not this time. Kirstine maintains this is the most fun activity she can recall in years, and we both would highly recommend it for sailors and non-sailors alike. It makes such a difference when you're dealing with people who love what they do, and this perfectly describes Mat and his crew Sam - our every need was looked after without them being "in our face." The boat is large, fast, and comfortable and we were given the option to help sail or be completely "hands off." We had a great time snorkelling at Cathedral Cove, and Mat was a veritable mine of information about the fascinating history of the surrounding bays. Can't thank these guys enough for a superb afternoon and we will absolutely be back. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Coromandel.I did this amazing trip today. 3 hours turned into four. BONUS. Sam and Mat were our super attentive and wonderful crew. Nothing was to much bother and they made sure everyone was happy and taken care of. There is no comentary, but questions are answered. It was great to get lost in thought and o...
I did this amazing trip today. 3 hours turned into four. BONUS. Sam and Mat were our super attentive and wonderful crew. Nothing was to much bother and they made sure everyone was happy and taken care of. There is no comentary, but questions are answered. It was great to get lost in thought and oggle at the scenery. The swim was a highlight for me. This is not an ordinary boat ride. This is time out from life. A time to kick back, relax, have your hair style ruined by the wind, have a drink and appreciate the beauty that surrounds. Perfect.Booked the avo of goodness tour for our girls weekend away. Last minute decision to head to Whitianga for Waitangi Day weekend and a quick search for water activities resulted in booking the afternoon sail with Boom Sailing. Best decision ever. Mat and Charlotte delivered a wonderfully chilled afternoon - with plenty of opportunities to join in with the sailing or just relax on beanbags on the nets. The best way to see the coromandel is definitely from the water and the opportunity to sail along the coastline viewing cathedral cove and visit the marine reserve with a stop for snorkeling with wine, beer and fruit platter on hand made for a wonderful afternoon. Highly recommend this afternoon out to de-stress from everyday life. Mat is bringing his catamaran to Auckland for the Americas Cup and we’re looking forward to having the chance to get back on the water again with this lovely boat and crew.I highly recommend spending an afternoon with the Boom Sailing team. I highly recommend spending an afternoon with the Boom Sailing team. The Skipper, Mat is obviously a very experienced and skilled sailor, and has a winning personality to boot. Super personable and provides a very ‘real’ experience. It can be as laid back or involved as you’d like, it’s really up to you. Choose to chill on the bean bags and enjoy the scenery, the boat is very stable and sails very well. Or get involved and ask Mat or the crew about the history of the area, or sailing in general. They are all more than happy to answer any question you might have and will get you being part of the sailing itself as well. It can be fast too so if you’re keen on yachting then this is for you for sure. The crew and Mat are also very good with young kids, and they have a knack for engaging with pretty much anyone. I definitely felt well looked after and in safe hands, and would most definitely repeat the experience.
