This was a great way to tour Asheville. The city is small, and the tour seems to hit all the highlights. It was very neat learning some of Asheville's unique history of different parts of the city during the ride. This is a "hop on, hop off" trolley, which means just what it says. The full ride (without hopping off) is about 90 minutes. If you have the time, I suggest you take the full ride the first time. There are a few benefits to doing so. For starters, if you're new to the city, it helps to learn what "attractions" are in each area before deciding what part of town you want to tackle first. The trolley ticket covers two days, so this a plus. Another benefit of taking the whole trip first is you get to enjoy an uninterrupted tour. An uninterrupted tour means an uninterrupted story. And the storytelling is the magic. Of course, not all trolley drivers are created equal. Some share information - history, tidbits about the city, etc. Others tell stories. MATT, our first trolley driver, was indeed a storyteller. He was so good, I honestly didn't want to interrupt by hopping off. All this to say, if you have the time take the trolley tour. It's a great experience. Oh and the parking at the trolley pick up location is free. Can't beat that.We very much enjoyed this tour!! Our tour guide Matt was very knowledgeable regarding Asheville history, and kept us entertained and educated the whole way! If you’re new to Asheville and want to learn about the city, its history and famous people, I heartily recommend this tour.

My wife and I came to Asheville to get married and have a relaxing vacation. This was our first time visiting North Carolina. We started our tour at the Asheville visitor center, and our first guide Michael was great. He has a gift of story telling and keeps the visitors entertained and interested. I like the fact that you can hop on or off at multiple locations throughout the city and every time a trolley showed up with a 5 minute window of the scheduled stop. Would definitely reccomend this to anyone wanting to know more about the city of Asheville.Taking the trolley is a great way to get around Asheville.
