This is an exceptional, must do tour for an authentic and incredible introduction to what the highlights of a visit in Auckland should include. Liz provides fantastic insights as a local with entertaining stories that give context and meaning to all the sites. You'll see things you wouldn't find out about on the internet and she also makes recommendations per your personal interests. You'll leave with a sheet of inspiring ideas for restaurants, activities, local food favorites, and a map to find them! It's like meeting up with a friend who gives you a good overview and guide for planning the rest of your days in Auckland to make the most of them. Highly recommend - will make a good visit, a GREAT one!Loved being able to see where locals hang out, e.g. the very charming Britomart. Loved the surprises along the way, too - Vulcan Lane, for instance. Wonderful way to get to know Auckland without spending lots of time doing your own research. Highly recommended!!

Closer to the wharf, we saw many boutique shops and stopped in an upscale chocolate shop for a tasting. Joe was very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. I learned a lot about Auckland and New Zealand re their history and culture. It was totally worthwhile. I highly recommend this walking tour, particularly on the front-end of your stay in Auckland, so you can get a “lay of the land”. The photo ops were great, too!Our small group was led cheerfully through the highlights of Auckland by our guide, Jo. She made us all feel welcome, and was an enthusiastic ambassador for her city. Our small group was led cheerfully through the highlights of Auckland by our guide, Jo. She made us all feel welcome, and was an enthusiastic ambassador for her city. Although we had to scramble a bit to avoid construction, she chose routes that were easy for us to manage. Any questions were quickly answered. We had a lovely coffee stop where we learned about New Zealand foods, and then tried some tasty artisan chocolates. Jo also provided a list of recommended restaurants, foods, and experiences. She was really helpful with specific bus Route advice. The tour pace was great, we covered a lot but never felt rushed. I would recommend this tour as a good orientation to the city. I actually took the tour on March 16, but the system date defaulted to April.
