Wow! Theodore is such a gem and the tours he leads are amazing in so many ways. We signed up for the village tour and it will forever be one of the most memorable experiences in our life. We met the local people, experienced their craft making, visited their homes and talked about their home life and then participated in their music and dancing. Our son plays the violin so he brought his instrument and Theodore arranged for the musicians to play with him. Unreal. The people are so kind, thoughtful, caring and friendly. This is a must-do activity - take the time to really get to know the country beyond the gorillas. The culture and its people are a big reason we will return. Thank you, Theodore and Beyond the Gorillas Experience team!!! You are amazing. We could not have been more impressed with Theo and our day spent with Beyond the Gorillas. We could not have been more impressed with Theo and our day spent with Beyond the Gorillas. After trekking to see the gorillas and golden monkeys we heard about Beyond the Gorillas and spent a day learning about traditional Rwandan music, crafts, ect. visited a village and visited a day school to watch traditional dance and hear traditional music. We were so happy we found this before leaving Muzanse. It was a wonderful look at the lives of the local people and traditions which make up the area and the country. Theo and company are very knowledgeable and professional and they do amazing work within their communities, using tourist dollars to really benefit the local people. Adding one (or more) of Beyond the Gorillas many activities is a must during your Rwanda visit. When I first visited Musanze several years ago I totally failed to understand why this beautiful area was not promoted beyond the gorillas. When I first visited Musanze several years ago I totally failed to understand why this beautiful area was not promoted beyond the gorillas. And then I discovered Beyond the Gorillas Experience. Attracted by the name I started booking tours. And I have done so for many years now. BGE is knowledgeable, flexible and customer-oriented. And on top of that the organization gives back to the local community. I highly recommend the village walk, the scenic walk and the boat tour on Lake Ruhondo. Guests of mine have also done the Bisoke hike and were equally enthusiastic. Highly, highly recommendedIt was fantastic.it was a quite impressive experience. The people are good and helpful.the guide also was very informative.hopefully we will come back for another experience

We visited a local village to see how a community lives & to view traditional handicrafts etc. It was very varied & interesting. The villagers were very friendly & the dancing was amazing. I would highly recommend the company & the tour. To see people that were so happy despite having so little was very humbling. If you are able to, gifts of soap, notebooks etc (a guide can advise) are very use.
